So like, I had a post. I had a ragey teary MY BAND IS OVER post only I had it....a year? two years? after LJ started. It was very upsetting because they were the band that made music matter, not lyrics being awesome because words are awesome, but sound. They made sound matter. Oh man, you should totally look them up! Their lead singer, Cajun Tate, looks like Grant Morrison. Back when they were together, they were in every music celebrities's top 10 favorite bands. It was awesome! Normally I'd tell you to run out and buy their stuff, but their CD's aren't haven't been produced in years and their debut album can't be purchased anywhere for love or for money.

And that's two out of their three albums. Cause, like I said, you can't find their first album for love or for money.

If you have any nice speakers or headphones, you should burst them out for your first listen. They so all these things with sounds! They have these orchestrations that are kind of unbelievable and they did it all themselves. Oh, they are darling. Villa Elaine was written and recorded in a tiny motel room where the entire band lived. Golden Hum is, IDK, it's like a sound garden. You close your eyes, start on track one, and you hear this garden of sounds.

So I listened to Remy Zero all night and am listening to Glorious #1 again for maybe the tenth time, and just for kicks, I idly wikipedia'd them and ended up looking up Gregory Slay's page.

According to the wikipedia, he and I have (or had) the same birthday: May 10. He was born exactly 10 years before me.

They are so awesome! Not gonna lie, the birthday thing sparked the post. At least Remy Zero is awesome sauce. I have their new um, Greg-less album coming in the mail. I'll have that up for share if you like.
