Don't worry about your writing. I've been in a huge slump, but it'll turn around eventually, and you've always been more diligent than me :P
My brother and I just finished DQVIII a couple weeks ago; how far did you get? And we also have DDS2 sitting around (although neither of us have ever played DDS1). Currently I'm trying to get through Persona 3 before I have to go back to school (and in GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL mode for The World Ends With You). So you're not the only one with RPGs coming out your ears XD
Hurr, yeah. I'm still tagging like a mofo, it's just actual prose that hasn't been firing in my neurons lately.
Ahahaha...I'm up to the final boss fight in DQVIII, actually. It's just that I'm about 7 levels under where I should be and grinding Metal Slimes for hours on end sounds as appealing as stabbing myself in the face with a railroad spike. Ain't it great? SO MANY RPGS. SO MUCH GRINDING. I would definitely say concentrate on P3, if you can, just so you can have one definitively completed.
AND DON'T BE LIKE ME. ACTUALLY TRY TO COMPLETE THE COMPENDIUM.
What level are you? Some of the guides I've seen suggest levels that are really way more than you need. My brother and I beat the final boss in the low 40's, and beat the super-special-awesome-secret-extra-boss (final 7-form marathon) under level 50. And at those levels it doesn't take too many metal slimes to level.
I'm in the middle of August in P3 (just got Koromaru, haven't used him yet except for one Tartarus-boss) and rolling steadily along. I completed the compendium on my second playthrough of P4, but I don't know if I'll try for that on this playthrough of P3.
1. I miss controlling all my party members 2. I miss social links with all the party members
But overall I like it a lot and am trying to restrain myself from looking for fic so I don't get spoiled, but I'm only partially succeeding. :P Mitsuru/Yukari anyone? THERE'S TENSION
I think I'm in the high-30s at the moment, soyeah. Jonesy is always underlevelled wooo~ though at least GameFAQs has allowed me to get the best weapons/beat the Monster Arena with minimal hair-tearing.
Ah, yeah, I wouldn't try to 100% the Compendium, but do try to be diligent about fusing new stuff, even if you're not gonna use it. It'll really come back to bite you in the ass later. XD And I am so with you on the controlling party members. GODDAMNIT MITSURU, DON'T-- NNNNGH
Ahaha, why am I not surprised. Yuri is nonexistent in this fandom, but I'd throw my lot in with Yukari/Fuuka, personally. :B
It gets really frustrating when enemies start using stuff like Tetrakarn/Makarakarn and the party just goes durrrr I dunno :B Or not taking perfect opportunities to use Media. But they handle themselves better than I was expecting, at least.
I could actually go for some Junpei slash too, but don't tell anyone -- my reputation would be ruined :O
Yukari and Fuuka did spend a lot of time alone together in the meeting room >:) Although I found Yukari's "Mitsuru this, Mitsuru that, what do you think about Mitsuru? I think Mitsuru's obsessed with Tartarus MitsuruMitsuruMitsuru" and then Fuuka's "Yes, obsession isn't healthy..." pretty hilarious.
There's also random-stalker-girl-in-the-hallway/Mitsuru. I JUST KIND OF HAVE A THING FOR MITSURU, MAYBE.
Gawd, yeah. The running joke of MARIN KARIN IS USELESS, MITSURU is far too true.
Oh Junpei. ♥ There's a bit of Junpei/Akihiko in fandom, if you poke between the giant piles of Minato/SPOILER.
I cannot deny Yukari's whatever-it-is, either. Personally, I pair her with everyone and their mothers, so I'm a little biased. XD Stalker/Mitsuru is so OTP, though.
