I just realised something in the shower, as most people do.

It's long been proven that Kingdom Hearts has one of the most ravenously batshit crazy fandoms on the Internet. I mean, they're up there with goddamn Naruto. But you know what I realised?

This is a series of games about friendship, loyalty, optimism, and Disney fucking Princesses. And it ( Read more... )

LOL. Just LOL. That's pretty funny.

And yeah, Tekken? Never played it, but I know someone who /loves/ it, to the point of fanfic and the like. Different strokes for different folks, I guess? I know people who didn't like Mario and Luigi.

(But they're just idiots anyways. Who can't love them?)

The two pieces of information just clicked in my head, and I suddenly realised how ridiculous it all was. I mean, seriously. Children's game. DISNEY children's game. It's bad enough that they have so much buttsex between underage boys.

I used to absolutely adore Tekken, back when I played the shit out of the Tekken 3 demo a friend had, and had great fun with Tekken Tag. But now it just seems jerky and without any sort of flow.

...I refuse to believe someone does not like Mario and Luigi. You lie, my dear Fey.

PFFFF. Well it's sort of like doing SRSBZSS shit with the game with parrots and lawyers but OH GOD I LOVE IT ANYWAYS. Sometimes I take a step back and feel embarrassed. But then I remember it's fun and only feel marginally embarrassed.

HUH. Oh well--I'm not much for fighting games anyways. /is an RPG WHORE

I wish I was lying too, Jonesy. ;;

And we always have the defense that murder cases are pretty serious business, even if we are cross-examining parrots and using panties as evidence. Totally covered! As long as no-one brings up Armstrong.

Haa, I'm an RPG whore too. But if you do give a fighting game a real shot, Soul Calibur III is where it's AT. *nod*

...those people have no soul. >:

That's usually part of the reason why I usually stick to my own bubble of fandom. But~ I guess it can't be helped.

That's very true. Heck, it's most of the reason I don't interact with the Final Fantasy fandom if I can help it. They're just...wow. bofoddity is the sanest one I've met, off the top of my head.

I have left fandom in the past simply because the people there were so irritating. I lost the will to CARE about Naruto because of the squeeing over SASUKE-KUN or ITACHI-KUN, etc..

Oh man, Naruto. I have heard some horror stories about that fandom. Were they as bad as what I've heard? Because I have met one reasonable Naruto fan...

tits out for Tsunade :3

I avoid the hell out of the deeper reaches of the Kingdom Hearts fandom for a good reason. I like my cheery Disney crossover game without too much corruption of the crazier people.

(Although when I can see the subtext, Sora and Riku, Y'all are laying it on a bit thick)

Yeah, exactly. It's just so ridiculous, when taken in a larger context. Even moreso when you look at the RP community; fifty Axels, thirty Soras, twenty-five Roxas' and Ansems, and zero Donalds or Goofys. Uh, guys...did you forget the team-mates who are constantly with you through the whole game? Beloved Disney characters for almost a century? Anyone?

(Haha, yeah. Sora's little gay whine whenever he says 'Riku~ <3' is pretty hard to ignore.)

Or hell, any of the more fun Villains, Hades, Oogie Boogie (..if you ignore the second game for the most part. That was a great big 'wtf')

Yeah, I avoid pretty much all fandoms these days. :T I'm such a fandom hermit.

T-though I will admit that I was an obnoxious KH fantard when I was fourteen or so. At least I still didn't take things very seriously dkfjghdk

You're not missing much, really. Except for the Phoenix Wright fandom, of course, since we're all so amazing.

And that is the important part! Writing stories about children's games on the Internet really should not be such serious cause for offense and grudges.
