Of course I beat the Mu boss as soon as I said I was having trouble with it. I don't know what else I expected of myself ( Read more... )

Playing this as a child, there were two places where I would get irrevocably stuck: the Mummy Queen, and those fucking vampires. It's worse if you don't beat them fast as Freedan - if you run out of continues, you turn back into Will and have to backtrack through the whole dungeon to find Freedan again.

I really like the Angel Village. It's cool how all the towns in this game are distinct -- South Cape, Freejia, Angel Village, Itory Village, Euro, Dao, Watermia... they all have really unique qualities. In a lot of RPGs there's maybe a couple important towns and the rest kind of blend together.

I can walk a mile in 15-20 minutes depending on how much I'm hurrying. For a long journey like this, we'll say 20. That means it would take 166 2/3 hours to walk 500 miles, which is just about a week, nonstop. In other words, stop exaggerating Eric you whiny crybaby.

Heh, yeah, playing through this again has violently reminded me of how difficult this fight was. However, with the magic of savestates, we can do anything! :D

Oh yeah, I loved the Angel Village too. The whole theme they had behind it was really cool. I forget how long the Angel Village is, so it might take up a whole update.

YEAH GOD ERI-er, Lance? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU, YA LAZY KID.

Finally beat the vampires. Rrr.

I think my least favorite dungeon in this game was the Mu dungeon. So complicated and long. Oh well. At least it's over.

Man, I know! Bloody Jack and Silvana...though I do put down my 'durhur I'll fight as Will this time! How hard can it be?' :B-ness as a reason this battle was so hard, too.

And BIG geez who thought a continent would be a good size for a dungeon?

Retracting spikes? Yup, this is an RPG all right.

Of course, it looks like he should be able to just walk between them, but we know better.

The Psycho Slider is actually a really cool little move. Aside from the aforementioned sliding-into-cracks, it is actually the most damaging attack Will currently has. This thing does 11 DAMAGE right now. A regular hit only does about 6, if you're lucky.

Oh, sweet! 8D

Aha, so there's the vampires. I was wondering when they'd show up.

We have here the Wonder Twins of the vampire world, Jack and Silvana.

So they have really lame powers compared to everyone else? :B

This is the most difficult boss we've faced so far.

...Oh. Nevermind.

...phew. (It actually doesn't matter which wire you cut. Apparently Will has some magical Wire Cutting Sense.)

Oh, good. It does make sense, too.

Five hundred miles is about eight hundred kilometers. :B And it's pretty much a solid seven or eight hours of driving at highway speeds.

"Oh, no! Will found more food to keep us from starving!"

I really like ( ... )
