Phoenix clutched the strange pin in his hand, glancing around the deserted streets; he’d never seen the place so empty. Maya fidgeted nervously by his side.
“…should we?” he asked.
“Yeah.” he said. “We’ve got to.”
Phoenix focused, a blue glow filling his vision, and touched one of the symbols that appeared. The weird frog-things jolted into existence, and Phoenix clenched his fists, shaking slightly as Maya was warped away to wherever she went when they fought these things.
“We’ve just got to survive…” he muttered, voice shaking as the first enemy leaped at him, eyes gleaming maliciously. “Just survive.”

Rinoa huffed, planting her hands on her hips; seriously, was this everything he had in his wardrobe? Shooting a look over at her boyfriend - yeah, just stand there, Mr. Emopants - she sighed dramatically and began sorting. Black shirt, black pants, and so much leather.
One hour later, Squall’s wardrobe was laying in two large piles on the floor; she had tried, but there was just so much black. Rinoa stalked over to Squall, still leaning against the wall, and grabbed his hand, tugging him out of the room.
“That is it.” Rinoa said. “We are taking you shopping right now.”
