Okay! I am thoroughly bounced back right now. As long as I keep a level head and keep tapping away at the work, everything's gonna be aaaaall right.

HEY I HAVE A MECHANIC RELATED QUESTION which is probably really dumb but i've been wondering about this for a while so

when it says prizes, those are cards you put into the pool right? so when you lose, you lose cards because your opponent draws them as prizes, right? like the extremely old ante rules in Magic? or are they just cards designated vaguely as "prizes" that aren't really related to anyone?

Don't worry, it's just HORRIBLY CONFUSING.

Prizes are cards from your own deck. Winning a prize means that you get to put it into your hand, which means that you can get seriously screwed over by having a vital card in your prize pool. IT MAKES LESS SENSE THEN THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE.

OOOOOOh okay that makes more sense. I was wondering otherwise why anyone would lose ANY battles without reloading then. :O

Prizes are cards you put in from your deck; every time one of your Pokemon gets knocked out, the opponent draws a card from their prize pool. Contrary to what it seems, the prizes are actually your own cards, so you can't lose any cards if you lose.

I didn't realise this until rather recently, so it's okay. :B
