Update: That Thing What You Blog In

Feb 26, 2008 19:38

Bluh, bad mood. I hate being all depressed and stupid like this. Moving furniture and walking around in the rain all day is not conducive to keeping me in a good mood. I think, tomorrow morning, I'm gonna need to do my little comfort thing: make some 2-minute noodles (I'm not a very good cook, since recipes basically refuse to stick in my head, and I don't really want to put any effort in) and watch Ghostbusters. It's quite a dorky thing, but it makes me feel content.

Anyway, stuff. Stuff has happened recently, and I feel the urge to blog.

My mum dragged me along with her to help her friend/person she cleans for pack for their big move. Packing five crates worth of books is not really my idea of fun - especially since I was pulled along to 'help' while Mum went upstairs and talked - but after lots of packing had been done, I got a bunch of cool stuff. The people had waaaaaaayy too much crap for an inter-state move, so they were willing to just give stuff away. I got:
- A scanner (which I haven't been able to get working yet, but it should go fine once I figure it out)
- A USB fan-thingie that you put your laptop on top of and it cools it down. I DON'T REMEMBER TECHNOLOGY STUFF, SHUSH
- A USB game controller (which I've already used to play Kirby Super Star and ASFHKJSADF SO GOOD)
- About six or seven novels, including a hilarious-looking 'sex manual' that I just HAD to (discreetly) grab
- A cool-looking Incan (or Aztec, not sure) wall hanging thingie
- A rocking chair (I'M AN OLD MAN AT HEART, IT'S TRUE. I EVEN HAVE A WALKING STICK.)

A pretty good haul for one day's work. IF ONLY HE'D HAD A DRAWING TABLET. Mum grabbed a load of old trinkets, but the main thing is all the awesome furniture. Rugs, wall pictures, bookcases, armoires, chest-of-drawers'...basically a whole new set of furniture, which is good considering how crap some of our old stuff is. I mean, I like our old stuff; it's comfortable, it holds real sentimental value to me. This furniture has been by my side for a long time. But Mum and Dad abhor packratting, so lots of our old stuff gets chucked. If it were up to me, I'd keep aaaaaall the old stuff and have it forever. :3 But alas, it's not up to me.

Okay uhhhh, something to make this post worthwhile. How about some pictures of stuff?

A picture the_sezza did for me in the Phoenix Wright Pchat for me, which is awesome like you have no idea. Phoenix Wright is actually the exception to the rule for me - usually, I really dislike or have no real interest in the main characters, favouring the side or obscure characters - but I've always had a little spot in my heart for Penny Nichols. She's barely got any character development in her one appearance at all, but DARNIT I LIKE HER ANYWAY. And this picture made me :D so hard. SO HARD.

I also made some icons!

The one on the left is from one of Doxinator's supervcr comics, which I adore. I just had a sudden urge to make an icon out of that panel. It came out a little weird, though. (uh hope you don't mind me using the picture, Dox. Just tell me if you do and it'll disappear. :B )

The one on the right is from Zarla's Mambolawyer, of course. The little bit with Phoenix and Maya was always my favourite (GUESS MY OTP, GUYS) so I did an icon of that. I'd love to do a whole bunch of icons of all the characters in that, but ehhh...effort.

ALRIGHT, THAT'S ENOUGH POINTLESSNESS FROM ME. I'M GONNA GET STARTED ON THE NEXT SCREENCAP ADVENTURE EPISODE RIGHT NOW
