Time: June 9, 2000 Place: Manor Grounds Status: Semi-Public (Luna/Anybody Willing to Help, Adam, Gabriel, possibly others) Summary: Neville is looking for help. Any help.
Adam sighed when he picked up the relative nearness of the two presences. Was he ready for this again? Did he even have a choice?
But he didn't have time to think about it; he ran instead - down the stairs through the lobby and outside just in time to catch a strange little creature yelling his lungs out.
"I'm... I'm here to help," he gasped, holding a stitch in his side. "What's wrong?"
Neville looked warily at the young man. Then he decided he didn't have a choice, not really. The commander needed help, any help.
"The commahhnder ihs hurt," he said, hoping really, really badly his revelation wouldn't lead to the commander getting hurt even more. Although he had no idea how he could be hurt more, to be honest. "Badhhly hurt. He's --" swallowing, Neville voiced his worst fears, "he's dyihng."
"Don't worry," said Adam, trying to reassure the hero-worshipping imp. "He's not gonna die. He's much too strong and powerful to let a little thing like that stop him. But you've gotta take me to him right away."
Still worried but slightly reassured by Adam's words -- of course the commander couldn't die; he was the strongest and most powerful thing Neville knew, after all -- Neville squeaked, "Ohkay," and started to run back to where he had left Mictain as fast as his little legs could take him. Which, especially considering his exhaustion, was not that fast.
Finally he got to the edge of the Manor grounds, close to the spot where he had left the demon. As he saw again all the various burns and wounds, he shivered in fear. He'd never been somebody hurt so badly. True, the commander was strong, but maybe even he wasn't strong enough for this...
