2009 Hawaii Trip

Jun 18, 2009 01:03

Super jetlagged.

But no, we must proceed to the city tour first. :)

King Iolani Palace. We didn't have time to go inside, I think it's a museum.

Heehee.

At the Pearl Harbor

I think this is a part of USS Arizona.

Pearl Harbor monument.

Kuhio beach

The surfing... deity... I don't know...

The whole lifestyle was pretty casual... like shorts, bikini tops, flip flops. Like, you can jog while wearing a bikini top and no one would mind.

View from our room.

North Shore

Hanauma Bay

The whole gang.

Remember Jurassic Park?

Dessert at the hotel restaurant. Haha, random.

Me and my cousins. They're so cute.

We made a pit stop at a macadamia store. Above is a macadamia nut. My mom got some seedlings. They say that it will bear fruit in 6 (!) years, if the weather and soil permits.

Polynesian Cultural Center

Funny Polynesian guy: "Imagine dehusking 100 coconuts a day. One day I just gave up, I said, 'forget this, I'm going to America!'. Then they make me do this!"

A Tonggan.

A variety of Polynesian dances. I remember my Anthropology teacher saying that we always say that we Filipinos are Asians but we seem more like Polynesians... wala lang, just a thought.

Honolulu Harbor

Aloha Tower

Rob's yaya's baby. Rob's former yaya is already a resident of Hawaii and she was kind enough to tour us around, heehee. Hello po, Ate Myra!

Outlets (of course).

At the Puka Dog station. A Puka Dog is a hotdog but with enclosed buns. But they have different relishes, coolness.

The beach where we decided to hang on Tin's last day. But then I had to rush to go back to the hotel because of the luau thing at the hotel. Parang na-stress ata si Tin nun, haha!

Polynesian Dean Cain.

An assortment of food which consists of Kalua pig (kind of like lechon), ahi poke, paella, etc. I didn't get the poi. One person seated next to me said that it tastes weird.

The beach in front of our hotel.

Lola and her green salbabida. *lol* I love this pic.

Some flamingoes inside the hotel.

Island latte! I loved this coffee. It had a hint of coconut, yummy.

At the surfing area. One of my parents' friends accompanied my brother to surf at this area. Wala namang sharks dito, sa North Shore lang daw, haha! Even though they say that it only happens rarely, I don't want to be part of that statistic! :P

left, right, left, right -- hehe.

Sigh, I'll miss this view. I'll miss Hawaii and its nice weather.
