Oh the Man-pretty (aka This is a picture heavy post)

Last night, my friend Sarah and I went to the 100 Monkeys concert.  The show started late but it was awesome.  Here's a recap:

The venue was at this old Chinese theatre called the Rickshaw which was so conveniently located on Skid Row.  If you don't know anything about Vancouver, here's 1 fact, Main and Hastings is not a good area.  It's where junkies, drunks and hookers hang out.  Anyways, I digress.

The lineup was pretty long (half a block).  I don't know how long we waited but it was a while.  They didn't start letting us in until closer to 8:00 (which was when the show was supposed to begin).  I was beginning to get irritable because the group of sluttersauruses in front of us chain-smoked like a fucking chimney.

Once we got in, we waited for a while before the opening act for the opening act even came on.  In the meantime, the 3 camera whores in front of us kept taking photos of themselves blinding me with their fucking camera flashes.  Anyways, I think it was just after 9pm when this dude, who's name I can't recall came on (who kept plugging his record).  He was pretty electric on the guitar but his voice was so awful.  All he did was scream and screech.  It was like a male version of Janis Joplin without the finesse.

We thought he would never finish.  My ears were ringing after he ended.  Another wait and the opening act, Thee Manipulators came on.  They were having technical problems so we waited a few more minutes while they tuned their speakers and amps.  I took some photos with my camera but it sucks ass and so most of these photos are compliments of my friend, Sarah.  Please do not use without permission.

These guys were good.  Their sound was like old school electro garage rock.  They were also funny and knew how to play up to the crowd.

Finally, 100 Monkeys came on.

The crowd went crazy.  The floor filled with bodies and the place lit up like a Christmas tree.  A minute later the screaming became a frenzy when BFFs Liz Reaser and Nikki Reed (and her bf) crossed the stage to watch the show.  They sat upstairs to the left of the stage on a makeshift VIP area.

I've only heard 100 Monkeys off of their website and I've got to tell you, these guys are 100 times better live.  They're majorly talented.  In fact, they switched instruments at the beginning of every song.  It was like musical chairs.  They can all play all of the instruments.

Ben G., also an actor and Jackson's friend from school and current roommate, was awesome.  He was funny and entertaining.  I guess you could say he's like the front man.  Jackson was very laid back during the show.  He was one of the band and didn't want to steal the group's thunder.  Very cool of him.

At one point Jackson turned to the side and sang a verse to Nikki who in turn blew him kisses.

I have to be honest with you, Jackson Rathbone's man-prettiness fucking stunned and hypnotized me.  He'd shaved for the show and oh his skin.  It was so clear and smooth that it made me jealous.  All I could do was bounce and sway and stare at his chiseled jaw and panty-dropping smile.  Holy hotness batman, you have got to see him smile in person.  It would totally make all your girly parts quiver.  I'd take Rockstar-Jackson over Actor-Jackson any day.

On a side note, Nikki R. (her bf) and Liz R. didn't stay until the end of the show.  They left near the mid-end.  Choosing to make a quick and hasty exit.

It was so hot last night that everyone was sticky and dripping sweat (check out the Monkeys).  At one point, Jackson said that after the show he was going to go home and shower and wash all the sweat off.  Of course that got all the chicks screaming.  LOL!

Last night was so much fun.  I'm glad I went and I'd see them again if they ever come back to town.  I liked their live show (and not just because of Jackson's sexy).  Love them.

p.s. I think Jackson has stolen all my quiver from RPatz.
