Chris felt bad about lying to Savannah, but he couldn't tell her the truth. He knew who Bianca was thanks to some lingering memories from one of his alternate universe selves. And he knew that wherever they were together, Wyatt was evil.
After trying some healing potions and studying his wound in the mirror, he realized that he couldn't pretend this wasn't happening.
He orbed to the beach, nearly doubled over in pain, and called her name.
Bianca
Bianca shimmered in next to Chris. "You really shouldn't try to orb anymore, you know," she said. "It could kill you."
Chris
"What did you do to me?" Chris demanded, holding his chest.
Bianca
"I was stripping you of your powers," Bianca said. "And if I don't finish what I started, you'll die soon. Think of it as an infection, and I'm the only one with the antidote."
Chris
"Why?" Chris asked. "You've got the wrong guy. I'm not your Chris."
Bianca
"Doesn't matter," Bianca said, crouching down beside Chris. "Your Wyatt is going to go evil in the future, too."
Chris
Chris flinched. "And how does you stripping my powers solve that?"
Bianca
"To save your life," Bianca said. "If you don't have powers, you aren't a threat to Wyatt, and he won't kill you."
Chris
"And if I don't have my powers, I can't stop him," Chris insisted.
Bianca
"Look, this is what you told me to do," Bianca said. "My Chris. So please, don't make this any harder than it has to be."
Chris
"No, I don't know what the hell is going on, but I'm not going to let you take my powers and leave me defenseless," Chris said.
Bianca
"You don't have a choice," Bianca said, reaching for Chris.
Chris
Chris grabbed her hand, her ring falling off into his hand. He batted her hand away and orbed out.

Savannah
To say that Savannah was a mixture of livid and frantic would not be overstating things. Yes, she had promised Chris that she wouldn't tell anyone what happened, but damn it! Some leather clad bitch had been trying to hurt Chris and if she hadn't arrived and used her spell on her, who knows what would have happened.
She was chewing on her lip as she walked down the hall to Chris and Summer's room. Summer was her best friend and she loved Chris. No matter what, she couldn't keep this from her. She deserved to know about the attack.
Even though she had made the decision to tell her, Savannah still stared at the door for a long time before she finally knocked on the door.
She hoped Summer was alone.
Summer
Summer was alone at the moment. She had been sitting on her bed with her laptop, searching for interesting celebrity gossip when she heard the knocking. She set that aside, though, and went over to open the door.
"Hey, Savannah," she greeted, noticing that she looked upset. "What's wrong?"
Savannah
She tried to give Summer a smile, but failed miserably. She was definitely upset.
"I need to talk to you," she said, chewing on her bottom lip. "But just you."
Because that wasn't suspicious at all, oh no.
Summer
"I'm alone right now. Chris isn't here," Summer said, more concerned now. "What's going on?"
Savannah
She sighed, shaking her head. "Chris was attacked. I blew her up with one of my spells." She looked at her friend. "He told me not to say anything, but..."
Summer
"What? He was attacked? Is he okay?" Summer was now in frantic, worried mode. "Please tell me what happened?"
Savannah
Savannah chewed on her lip. "He says that he's okay, but I still don't like that fact that it looked like she was trying to kill him."
Summer
"Where is he now?" Summer asked. "And where is this bitch so I can kick her ass?
Savannah
"I blew her up with one of my spells," Savannah said, shaking her head. "I saw her hurting Chris and I reacted. I don't know where Chris went after asking me not to tell anyone."
Summer
"We have to find him," Summer said. "He could be hurt..."
Savannah
Savannah looked worried. "Why would anyone want to hurt Chris?" She paced and then looked at Summer. "Where's Chris' book? You know his book like my grimoires? Maybe we can figure out what happened and why."
Savannah Levine did not like unanswered questions and why someone attacked Chris was an unanswered question.
Summer
Summer reached under Chris's bed and retrieved the Book of Shadows, then handed it over to Savannah. "There's a lot of stuff in here. Hopefully the answers we are looking for are in here, too."
Savannah
"God, I hope so," Savannah agreed as she flipped through the book. She turned a page and then frowned. "That's the mark she had on her arm," she said, pointing at a page. "I saw it when I bolted her." Savannah read further down the page and eyes tightened. "Oh holy shit."
Summer
Summer was looking at Savannah expectantly. "What?"
Savannah
Savannah looked at Summer and then pointed to the
page she was reading.
"Summer, someone magical took a hit out on Chris." She read the description to Summer, and her voice was full of both worry and anger.
"Why would someone do that?" She shook her head. "This is bad. We have to call Wyatt. I've never dealt with these people before!"
Chris
It was about to get worse.
Before they could get as far as calling Wyatt, Chris orbed in to the room. He didn't manage to say anything before collapsing on the floor, his shirt gaping to reveal a serious chest wound.
Summer
"Oh my god, Chris!" Summer cried, rushing over to him. She glanced at the wound on his chest. "Savannah, he's hurt!"
Savannah
Savannah was at their sides almost immediately. Seeing Chris's wound, Savannah started reciting something in Latin as she called up her magic.
When the first healing spell didn't do anything, she took a breath and started casting another. Again, it didn't work.
"Summer, it's not working! I must have used too much power when I blew up the girl attacking him."
Summer
Summer was determined, for Chris's sake, not to fall apart. "I think I have an idea..."
**********
Summer
Summer was pretty frantic at this point. Something had to be done to help Chris. Anything. She certainly was not ready to lose him, as she was sure Savannah felt the same way.
She hated seeing him in so much pain, so she did what any good girlfriend who knew people with supernatural abilities did. She called one of them using the dorm directory.
"Someone's coming here to help you," she said quietly to Chris as she held his hand.
Peter
Peter came to the door as quickly as he could. He knocked. "Summer? It's Peter."
Summer
"Hey Peter, thanks for coming," Summer said when she opened the door. "Something's wrong with Chris and I'm not sure what to do and...I'm really scared. You can do that healing thing, right?"
She really hoped he could because she was nearly on the verge of panic.
Peter
"Yeah, I can," Peter said. He bent down to get a better look at Chris. "What happened?"
Savannah
"He was attacked by a bimbo in leather," Savannah supplied, her blue eyes dark as she fought to keep her emotions (and her powers) under control.
Peter
"Anybody we know?" Peter asked, half-serious. He gave Chris a careful check, trying to get an idea of how much healing needed to be done.
Savannah
Savannah shook her head. "I've never seen her around here before." She ran a hand through her hair. "I thought I blew her up before she could hurt him... but apparently she's good."
Peter
"It's not your fault," Peter said, automatically. He put his hand over Chris's chest, called up his healing powers, and tried to fix the gaping wound.
Chris
Chris lay on the floor, unconscious.
The healing had no effect on his wound.
Peter
"Damn it," Peter muttered. He concentrated again, trying harder to get Chris's body to respond and to heal.
Chris
Chris's body firmly resisted Peter's efforts.
Peter
"Lemme try something else," Peter said, just so the others knew what he was doing. He remembered what Dinah had told him about helping someone in shock. He had telepathy already, but since he'd been exposed to Dinah he might have her version as well.
To be on the safe side he touched Chris's hand and concentrated. Maybe if he could pick up some of Chris's thoughts he could find out what happened and figure out how to heal him.
Chris
(... gotta keep Wyatt from turning evil.)
Chris is down on one knee, in front of a dark-haired girl.
"Bianca, will you marry me?"
He holds out a ring.
(Trust her? Engaged somewhere... )
Chris's right hand clenched involuntarily. If anyone bothered to look, they would see that he was holding an engagement ring.
Peter
Peter pulled out of Chris's mind, not able to control the chaos. He felt Chris's hand twitch under his. He moved to open Chris's hand and saw the ring.
"That's hers," Peter said. "The one who attacked him."
Summer
Summer had been silent for a moment, desperately hoping Chris would wake up. All she could do right now was try to keep it together.
"Maybe we can use it to find her," she said quietly, indicating the ring. She'd been around enough magical people to know about locator spells.
For now, she was going to ignore that it was an engagement ring he had been holding onto.
Savannah
Savannah reached down to pick up the ring, her eyes darkening. "I can probably do one. I can get Eve to help me to make the powers work stronger."
She was angry that the girl hadn't died the first time they met, but she really wanted to rectify that after seeing Chris in this condition.
Peter
"There was something about an engagement," Peter said. "I think to her. And he's really worried about Wyatt."
Summer
Summer frowned at the news about an engagement, but she was far more concerned about Chris's condition to get upset about it right now. "We should call Wyatt and let him know what's going on."
Peter
"Not that kind of worried," Peter said. "He's worried about Wyatt going evil."
Savannah
Savannah winced. "Like when that whole bear curse thing happened?" She looked at Summer. "If this has something to do with that version of Wyatt, we can't call him. It's too risky." She swallowed. "We'll have to think of another way to handle this."
Summer
"Then we have to think of something fast," Summer said, her voice filled agitation and frustration.
She reached for Chris's hand again. "Please wake up."
Peter
"Magic's out of my league," Peter admitted. Though if there weren't people right there who could do magic he probably would've stupidly made the attempt to try it without them.
Savannah
Savannah gave Peter a faint smile before looking at Summer. "We'll fix this, Summer, I promise you that. Chris is going to be all right."
Summer
Summer wasn't completely convinced considering Chris was still unconscious, but she knew panicking wasn't going to help. "Okay. So what should we do next?"
Savannah
She let out a breath. "I'll talk to Eve and see if I can do a trace with this ring to find that bitch. If we take care of her, hopefully we'll find the way to heal Chris."
Summer
Summer nodded, a look of determination in her eyes. "Then let's find her."
