Chris came awake slowly, aware of the nice warm body next to him.

He cracked an eye open. Wait, that was dark hair, not blonde.

Opening his eyes wide, he realized that he was in bed with Summer. He couldn't quite remember what happened last night to lead to this, but he was more than happy to take advantage of it.

Summer eventually woke up, blinking when she spotted Chris beside her. "Okay, how did this happen? Not that I'm complaining, but..."

She was a little confused.

"I have no idea," Chris admitted, pulling her close. "And I'm sorry that we ended up in such a cheap motel. You deserve better."

"Yeah, I do," Summer replied, looking around. She sighed. "But it has to be this way. I mean, if we got caught...that just can't happen."

"I know," Chris said, running his hands through her hair. "I wish things were different."

[snarkyprincess]

"So do I," Summer said a bit glumly, clinging to him. "I feel so awful about this, but...I can't help how I feel."

[neurotic_witch]

"I can't either," Chris said. "Damn our families for getting in the way of our love."

[snarkyprincess]

"I wish we could be free to love each other with no consequences, " Summer sighed.

[neurotic_witch]

"So do I. But since we aren't, we should take advantage of every moment we can steal together," Chris said, leaning over to kiss her.

"Not like anyone knows we're here," Summer said, allowing Chris to kiss her.

"God, I wish we could just run away and leave it all behind," Chris said. "But they would find us."

[snarkyprincess]

"And they can never know," Summer said. "It would hurt them so much."

[neurotic_witch]

"They don't have a clue what real love is like," Chris said.

[snarkyprincess]

"They certainly don't," Summer agreed. "I never wanted this. I never wanted to marry him, you know. My family doesn't care that I'm miserable without you."

Chris clung to her. "I know you didn't."

Summer clung to him tighter. Maybe she'd find a way out of it. Wyatt couldn't control her forever, no matter what information he was holding over her. She'd find a way without Chris ever knowing about her secret past.
