The aftermath: NCLEX and car collisions

Sep 03, 2006 00:05

Today was one of the longest days I've ever had. I'm sitting here now with a stiff neck and a pounding headache. It could have been worse. Here's the story ( Read more... )

Oh my God! I'm so glad you're okay! I can't even imagine what that must have been like.

I hope you feel better. Many many hugs!

Aw thanks Maryanne. I miss you... I can't believe how long it's been since I've seen you. But that's mostly my fault. Hope everything is going well for you. :)

Good heavens. I know exactly how you feel.

On the other hand, I also think that taking a test while in shock will not neccesarily give you the best results. Can you take the test again?

Yeah, but I'll have to wait another 40 days and pay another $200 dollars. The woman at the center said that usually when it turns off at 75 questions that is a good sign, so I'm trying to stay positive..

Well, here's hoping for you on that front.

I know how rattled you must be... accidents are pretty grueling experiences.

oh gosh. I'm glad to hear you're only stiff and have minor whiplash. It could have been a whole lot worse.

I was sore for about a week after my wreck. You'll recover, but it'll change your perception for a bit. And you might be afraid to drive in the rain like I was, or maybe not. Hope you heal quickly, physically and mentally!

Yeah I remember hearing about your collision and being really freaked out. My cousin was in an awful wreck last year, too, and almost killed someone... I guess it's much different when it actually happens to you, though. And no, I'm not too keen to start driving in the rain! Thanks Ryan... hope you are doing well. :)

hey...I was just journal-hopping and came across your entry. :( you're the second person i know who got into an accident within 24 hours before a major standardized test. ugh.

Yikes. Who's the other person? The people at the Pearsonvue testing center said that it has happened quite a few times, actually. I guess I'm not surprised..

Oh, no!   I'm so sorry that happened to you :(   It was a lousy day to be driving - but not enough to miss something important.   It's a tough decision that I've made countless times with both good and bad results.

Thankfully, you were not hurt badly.   Cars are disposable, but there will never be another you!

*hugs*

I've attached my special "wombat and penguin" icon to watch over you.

Thanks Mr. B. :) Yeah I called Stevie after the test like she asked me to, except I was sobbing because at that point I was more concerned over the accident.. how is Mrs. B? I wanted to visit at the hospital but never had a chance. Maybe I can ride my sad little bike over yonder and visit ya'll soon, lol.

whoops (or: it's so hard to keep up with stuff lately) ... kesey September 6 2006, 04:13:11 UTC
"how is Mrs. B?"

umm .. I might have answered this differently when you first asked the question.   She seemed to be doing fairly well at her mother's place, and even went to work today.   I got a call at 4:30 though, and met the two of them at the hospital - again!   Going for a record here - 5 surgeries in 20 days (with three of them on consecutive days) - but the good news is that this *should* be "it" - though of course you never really know ...

Anyway - should you wish to visit her she most likely be there tomorrow and into Thursday.   (8860 is her ext.)   I'm also available if you would like a ride (0878 replaces the last four digits in the home phone to reach me - 24/7).   If it doesn't fit your schedule, of course I understand - just giving you options :)

Thank you so much for your concern!
