JRock Revolution Pt. 1 - Friday

May 29, 2007 02:58

I got to LA with Saku at about 1:30 - 2:00 in the morning.

Neither of us slept, but instead we just kept laughing about random shit.
And we were loud.

Sorry to those of you who were near us and trying to sleep.

XD

Also, some homeless guy was playing a horn.

Saku kept yelling "SHUT UP!" "YOU SUCK!".
But he kept on playing, almost like he was purposely trying to antagonize her.

After the sun came out, at one point we were moved further back to other side of the parking lot entrance.
Nicole also brought Spence over to my spot to meet me.

At that point, Miyavi drove his red Mustang(?) over to the parking lot and got out.
Many fangirl screams were had.

The bands performing that day came and went through the parking lot very often.

I think it was Alice Nine who got into a van and recorded us with their cameras while we took pictures of them.
It was really cute.

X3

I saw someone who looked like Roger from Tainted Reality walk by me, then TBZK and Spence said "Hey, isn't that...?"

"ROGERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

And sure enough, he turned around and came back to talk to us.

He said that he took interviews with all the bands.
I posed the question as to when The Candy Spooky Theater and Suicide Ali would perform in LA, and he said that they are already working on it.

Yay!

^ ^

Eventually I had to go to the front to get my will call ticket.

But....

A girl with a noseband told me that they weren't letting us get them until 6pm, when they opened the doors.

This was absolutely ridiculous.
We were all told by Ticketmaster that they would open will call an hour before the doors.

We tried to get security to understand, but they said it was the Wiltern's call and that it was out of their hands.

Then the head of security came out to "explain things" to us (feed us bullshit excuses), and at that point I was beyond pissed.

I yelled at him and he scolded me.
I explained to him what Ticketmaster told us, and he said they gave us misinformation.

Bullshit.

I now know that the Wiltern staff are a bunch of fucking liars and will change their rules at the drop of a hat.
The only reason I got will call was because Ticketmaster or USPS lost my fucking ticket.

But that didn't make any difference.
Security and that asshole in charge weren't having it.

He had the audacity to say that "I'm doing you a favor by letting you get the ticket at 6. I should be sending you to the back of the line."

According to him, the way that it's supposedly done is will call is always sent in last.
No matter how early you get there, you are last.

BULLFUCKINGSHIT.

I'm never having a ticket sent to me ever again.
It's all about print-outs.

THEN.

He comes out and says, "Now you are going in 20 minutes after we open the doors. We want to get most of the line in first."

WHAT.

THE.

FUCK!?

Me and noseband girl were pretty pissed, but we waited.

They even opened the doors late.
We tried to get security's attention.

Noseband girl kept yelling "HELLO!? WILL CALL!"

It took them a while, but eventually we were let in.
I got my ticket and booked into the actual venue.

I stood behind what was either the seated VIP or handicapped section.
It was a great view.

Kagrra was first.

Gorgeous.

Absolutely gorgeous.

I loved their performance.

I melted when Shin broke out the koto for Utakata.

<33333

Isshi would take out a white paper between songs and say something in broken English.
I remember hearing "Please remember Kagrra", "We will be back", and, "This is the last song".

It was adorable.

X3

After Kagrra, I was feeling rather sleepy.
Since I primarily wanted to see them that day, I decided to leave and get in line for Saturday.

Soon Spence joined me again.
Then her friends came over and formed a group with me.

I eventually heard about Miyavi being announced as the fourth member of Skin.
I was mentally kicking myself for not staying to see it myself, but I was too tired to get too upset over it.

Sleep...

It's not easy achieve in an uncomfortable chair and the nipple freezing cold.

I would doze off every-so-often, only to be awaken by my violent shivering.

Yeah.

I now have a higher appreciation for hotels.
