Looking Ahead.
The more I pay attention to my future and the more I poke around, the more I want to do and the more excited I get.
My current favorite options for the future: No Mas Muertes/No More Deaths www.nomoredeaths.org
I want to live in the desert for the summer aiding illegal immigrants trekking through Arizona on their way out of Mexico. I'm always so hesitant to so much aid work because I'm never sure if it's my place to interfere and all that shabang but this sounds just what I'll need after graduation. There's no pedagogy, no "saving"...just the basic humanitarian need of water. Plus I'll get to camp, have communal meals, be in a beautiful place, not really spend money and put off the real world a bit longer.
Afterwards I have aspirations of labor/union organizing for the Labor International Union or UFCW, a research fellowship with the teamsters...I don't know but there's so much out there I'm feeling less desperate.
Maybe move to Chicago? I'm really feeling the need for a change of scenery and at this point the West Coast is too far. Plus Meesh and Court are there and I miss them terribly.
