"Slaughter, a
Democrat who chairs the House Rules Committee, said a caller to her office last week vowed to send snipers to “kill the children of the members who voted yes.” Her office reported the call to police, who were dispatched to provide protection for Slaughter’s grandchildren. She has also been in touch with the FBI and U.S. Postal Service inspectors, who intercepted a letter en route to her home in upstate New York."
[Read More Here, on Y!News] "During the Bush years, members of the far-right would often suggest that liberals were "with the terrorists" if we merely opposed the invasion and occupation of Iraq, or if we opposed the policies of the Republican leadership at the time. In fact, any negative criticism of the president whatsoever
was considered unpatriotic "while troops were in harm's way." That was the line we heard almost daily throughout the previous decade: don't undermine the commander-in-chief while troops were deployed in battle. Just don't. Or Sean Hannity will crush you with his mighty hairline!"
[Huffington Post] I...honestly...I really can't believe the GALL of these people. It's one thing to form civil protest--a right I fully support, which is why, before the racist remarks came out, I really didn't condemn the Tea Party--but it's a whole other thing to just go BATSHIT CRAZY like these people. I mean...How can you...if you want to see TERRORISM, this is pretty damn close to it--and in AMERICA.
I really don't want to believe that every Republican leader is sitting back and just NOT being abashed by any of this (or worse, PLEASED BY and even ENCOURAGING such behavior towards the left). PLEASE, tell me ONE. I'm serious. Not even being sarcastic. Please, name ONE GOP member who has at least said, "...OK, yeah, I'm a little shocked/amazed/disturbed by all this."
...I know some good, sensible Republicans in RL. But how can they support a party OK with ALL-OUT THREATS on FAMILIES based on their congressman's BELIEFS?
Patriotism and radicalism are two entirely stark contrasts. Please note the difference, America, lest you collapse yourself from the inside.
