Neuro's Adventures in Home Improvement Epsidoe 1: Bathrooms & Bedrooms

May 12, 2008 21:36

And so, the maddness begins anew.

We found out that the yellow and white stripes in the bedroom are not wall paper, but paint! And since the walls weren't primed or sanded proporly in that room, when I was removing the wall paper boarder, I wound up ripping some of the drywall surface away with the boarder and paint underneath.

So we are going to sand down the entire room, put on a primer, THEN paint.

We may be sleeping in the living room for a while once we move in.

I am now nearly done removing wall paper. Just a little bit of the bathroom left and the boarder in Yuna's future bedroom and I'm done with that. Once I finnish that I'm going to go around and clean up all the wall paper (and paint and dry wall) that I scraped off and take some in progress pictures. Then I'm going to start moving our kitchen stuff in after cleaning the kitchen.

The bathroom may need more work than the bedroom. Some of the dry wall is going to need to be replaced. That's not such a shock though since I expected it. However I gots a question for anyone who can answer it. We are also going to replace the shower surround . . . the . . . tub like stuff that is on the walls of the shower . . . what ever the hell that's called. The wall paper is a bitch to remove first off, and the caulking is so moldy my wife has stated she will NOT shower in that thing.

I don't blame her.

Personaly, I think we should look into replacing the entire TUB! However tubs are rather expensive and we probably can't afford to do that right now. So I think the rest of you should invest in scrub bubbles stock, cause I'm going to raise it with how many cans I'm going to buy to clean that damn tub.

How do you remove wall paper from behind a toilet when the damn thing is about three sheets of paper away from the wall?
