Okay, so I inherited this beautiful picture of a Victorian-style poster in a frame from my great-grandmother. It hung in her house for as long as I could remember, and when she died in March I was able to pick it up this summer from my grandmother. Sadly, one night when I was drunk I had knocked it over (it was leaning against the wall) and the glass broke. I had been preparing to move and never hung it up. So, 3 months later...I went to get a piece of glass for it, and brought the frame along with me. The guy told me the glass barely fits in it and the frame is bowed. This frame is very old, and I wanted to keep it with the very old poster. Now I worry that it may fall out while I have it hung, although my great-grandmother had it hanging in her house for as long as I can remember. Is there anything that can be done? Despite my background in art, I feel a little inexperienced with framing issues. Help!
