The terrarium I had ordered over two weeks ago arrived today, and since mother had a day off, we went to pick it up. Since I also had to find a lizard, now that I had a terrarium, I called several animal shops and finally managed to locate a suitable gecko. We went to pick it up, too.
He is yellow, and the animal shop owner said he is used to being handled. He seemed lively back in the shop, and tried to escape several times when the owner put him in the transporting box. Now he is in his new terrarium, and seems to be a bit scared, because he is just sitting in the box for now. That's to be expected, though.
I now have to figure out what to call him, and also do some research regarding terrarium plants. I have a bracketplant (chlorophytum capense) which would fit in well, but I need to ascertain it is not poisonous first. I also need to learn to take care of crickets, since I got about 15 of those with the lizard. Live food. I feel sorry for the crickets. Hopefully the gecko will stop growing soon, and will start eating more fruits.
