I read in a "Hints From Heloise" article many years ago the secret to getting melted wax out of your carpet. The solution is to place a paper towel directly over the wax and then iron over it with a hot iron. Repeat until clean. Since the wax heated up it smelled good again. Now I have wax free carpet and a pear/grapefruit fresh room.
