Book #2 - Gems of Divine Mysteries

bahaibookstore.com says: This short work, which was revealed in Baghdad, contains an exposition of the stages in the path of the spiritual wayfarer which complements that of the Seven Valleys and sets forth some of the doctrinal themes which would later be central to The Kitab-i-Iqan or Book of Certitude. The volume will further deepen the Western reader's appreciation of a period described by Shoghi Effendi as "the vernal years of Baha'u'llah's ministry," and assist students of His Revelation in gaining a more profound insight into its gradual unfoldment.

The above review was clearly written for Baha'is and Baha'i scholars. Anyone who doesn't fit into that category needs at least to know that this is a book written by the founder of the Baha'i faith, a small but growing religion. This book details the characteristics of any given individual in each stage of the process of spiritual growth. The concrete descriptions of a very mystical thing are refreshing to my often simple mind. Generally, I prefer to read Shoghi Effendi when looking for practical or historical information on the Baha'i faith and only read Baha'u'llah for poetic fulfillment. But this book easily provides all of that, in just the doses that I can handle.
