Dumb knitting question

Nov 14, 2009 17:45

I picked up some soft yarn and #11 needles at a local store Thursday and started a scarf. So far so good - I only did about an inch or so, but already I have a dumb problem.

I finished the row I was working on, put the work down and now that I'm ready to continue, I forgot whether the last row I did was knit or purl. The row is done and if I hold the left needle with the work on it, the back side of the work faces me as it hangs down.

Erm, help?

Edit: figured it out based on where the yarn "tail" was from casting on. It was time to purl!
