It's been over a week!
No malware errors! The laptop has been on, up and *happy*!
Last time I did the scans, on 10/1, I ran the 'innoculate' option. Maybe I hadn't done that on any of the prior runs, but it does preventative stuff. The last round of scans also didn't *find* anything, so maybe the more recent errors I've been getting were programs *trying* to do bad things and not quite making it.
Take that, malware! *shakes fist*
