I've been kind of MIA of late, days seem to blur into one another. Life gets busy and there just isn't enough time.
I had an absolutely wonderful, albeit short, visit with my former beta
faramir_boromir as she headed south on her journey to SC. We had BBQ at the Q-Shack. BTW, I was wrong,
faramir_boromir, the smoker *is* wood burning (and they use a mix of woods).
One of the nicest thing about LJ has been the wonderful people who I've met on line. Switching careers from an office to the rather solitary and isolated world of making wedding cakes has made me really value my online friendships. And meeting folks in person - that's just icing on the cake.
September seems to be the month for LJ visitors, next week
tootiredtosleep is in town for her work and I hope to catch up with her for a bite and some conversation.
Today's cake was kind of bittersweet. The person who was supposed to make the cake for the bride passed away. The design is a bit old fashioned, but I still like how it came out. More importantly, it was what they wanted.
