Last night, Fuck that up.

So last night we recorded at the conservatory. Now I have a lot of issues with the way things are run. I hate how complicated set up and such seems to be. That after 3 hours of being there we still dont have a single track recorded cause nothing seems to ever work properly. I have recorded there 3 times and never ever have I walked in, plugged in and got a good line.
It may be they were all amatures, but you would think statisticly that something would go right. 30% chance. And Every student I talked to all were suspicious that the instructers moved stuff around just to test them.
When things finally came together it was just one laugh after another.
Brian, the enganier that night is awesome. Great sense of humor. Great ideas, he really inspired me to step it up. The whole band did actualy. We got neils tracks down rather quickly after he digested "The big bowl of stupid" he admitted to eating. Once he remembered what he wanted to do in the song is one 3 quick takes and he was done. Then it was me.
I was nervous as fuck. This song has alot of meaning to me, some totaly childish and perverse, some really emotional. So I had Neil sit over my shoulder and direct me.
After the first verse we desided to add a whisper on the second. So I practiced the whisper for a couple minutes, then started whispering sexy suggestions to see if the sound booth was paying attention. They where and it kinda started off the jokes for the rest of the night. We recorded the second verse and then after wards I said something about liking it, and responded back to Brian who asked me a question...all of my voice being recorded. So I ask to hear a play back, after its done my voice starts saying how I liked it, and brian again responds. And starts having a conversation with the recording. So I finally let him know hes talking to a tape.
Later he almost does it again, I can see him reaching for the button to respond to my voice on the tape. I yell out "Dont talk to the recording" and it starts a running joke.
We finish recording everything for the first song around 12:30 and only have an hour or so to record new rock. The guitars where perfect and I had audry coaching me through so I am sure my voice is atleast ok. I didnt get to hear audrys takes so thats the only thing that could be wrong but her and neil didnt mention any real mistakes so its probably spot on.
I now just have to wait for the tracks. I am gonna miss Brian though. He was alot of fun to work with and hang out with. If I ever get signed I am gonna have him enganier the cd. He just pulled alot out of us, and seems to have some good ideas we didnt think of. Now lets hope I dont eat those words when i hear the final mixes.
