Reisen stood at the forefront of the swarm. Her expression... may or may not have held a tinge of regret...

No, this was the best way. She had to do this... it was the only way to defeat Baal, right? Kerrigan knew that... why hadn't Reisen accepted that earlier?

Once everybody was integrated into the Zerg, there was no way Baal could survive the assault of such a united force.

Today would mark the beginning of a new era.

For the Swarm.

With that simple thought, the Zerg began their assault.

Kerrigan watched Reisen from a distance back. A smart leader led from the rear, but only a stupid leader didn't lead their army at all. She noted Reisen's regrets and filed them for future concern. A doubtful soldier could be very dangerous.

Suddenly, in front of the Zerg army, a large wave of Rose Petals rise up and wash over the Zerg in the front, hitting them with their razor sharp edges. Then, Shinku and her dolls fly up over the Horizon, to face the horde. She stares at Reisen and and Kerrigan.

"Reisen, I knew there was something wrong with you, " She said coldly. "I can only hope you were taken by force, and not by choice*

"That's not really relevant right now," Reisen said.

She pulled out her handgun... Shinku couldn't be taken in the swarm, so it didn't matter if the doll was destroyed or not.

Rozalin flew to battle behind and several thousand feet above Shinku, with all the speed she could muster. She would never admit it, but her lifestyle made this hard, and had she the choice she would have avoided aerial combat. She just wasn't used to flying, and her musculature wasn't suited to it. She knew there was a trick to effortless levitation, but she could only use that subconsciously like so many of her other abilities. As the Swarm came into view, Rozalin felt her senses sharpen, her body surge with energy. Energy that she focused into her opening blow to clear the skies. Drawing her gun, she snapped off a single shot with a single word.

"INFERNO!"

The Zerg on the other hand, probably heard something like 'Nuclear Launch Detected.' Certainly, the mushroom cloud that was produced could be confused for the effects of the most powerful weapons wielded by the Terrans.

That explosion meant it was time. Mao was ready.

Mao snarled and raised his sword. "ALRIGHT THEN, LET'S DO THIS!" And he shot forward, sword at the ready.

That stopped when he saw who was on the other side. "Reisen?" Wait, what was she doing? Why was she telling the Zerg to attack? "...Reisen?" Why was she leading them?! He wasn't believing the sight before his eyes. "...why...?!"

Reisen knew this was going to happen. Fighting Mao was inevitable...

But this was just a step... she'd get over it, right? Once Mao was integrated into the swarm, they would be on the same side once more...

"Mao..."

The moon rabbit hesitated visibly... but things would be okay in the end, right? They would be together again once more...

"... ... join us, Mao... this is the only way we can defeat Baal, if we become part of the swarm..." she said.

A small part of her, deep down, didn't really believe that... didn't want this at all...

Thomas drew his sword and attacked Zerglings out on the outer reaches - he had been training when Revya had first had overt threats against everyone, he managed to actually hold his own, using his wits rather then relying on his weapons alone.

When the numbers started to get overwhelming, he withdrew to scatter them into more manageable numbers, and started to thin them out - not by much, but least that's several Zerglings that won't be attacking his allies.

Eirin, from back in the castle, frowned visibly... Or at least, it would have been visible were she not alone. Reisen's doubts could mean the end of all this.

From a purely logical standpoint, this wasn't good or bad - it was a matter of collectivism against individualism, ultimately, and while her side on the matter was clearly delineated, a case for individualism had its advantages as well. Then again, for raw combat efficiency...

She quickly wrote down a note. "In case of swarm failure, attempt research into creation of temporary hiveminds."

More immediately, though, she was worried for her Master. After all, if Reisen failed here, it could very well end with Kerrigan dead. Eirin couldn't do much, not with her cover still in force... But a few choice words, that might just be enough.

Focusing a little, she aimed her thoughts towards Reisen. ... Reisen, you must not doubt. Remember, these people need to be left alive, and doubt is more likely to leave them, or you, dead. Doubt now will, whether we win or lose, only weaken us in ( ... )

"What, Reisen was one of the people to get infested?" Rita says as she flies into the fight, her Energy Sword out and humming with power. "Mao, don't let her get to you! Just knock her out. We can fix her later!"

With That Rita charge into the Zerg, Her energy sword swing, cutting up any Zerg she meets. She fires Fireballs at any flying ones near her.

"Well, it seems that talking to you is as useless as talking to your master," Shinku said, raising her hand. "A pity. I will try not to hurt you too much"

With that, a tornado of flower petals formed, and rushed at Reisen.

Ammy was following Rozalin on the ground, her blade spinning to and fro as it cleaved through minor Zerg easily.

She was stopped for a moment as a Hydralisk caught the blade on one of it's bony scythe-like claws, but a moment and a pressure wave later, the Hydralisk fell cleanly in half and The Wolf Goddess was moving again.

The Zerg were falling like bowling pins, as the attacking force pushed deeper and deeper into the swarm. When the resistance suddenly stiffened, they might realize that they were more or less surrounded on all sides.

Mao swallowed, still delirious.

"Join you...?" And well, it appeared that she was recruiting. "Geh, I don't serve people. You tell Kerrigan...!" And then the full implications of what that meant hit him like a ton of bricks. It meant Kerrigan brainwashed Reisen.

Kerrigan did something wholly horrifying to Reisen.

Mao switched to horror from Reisen to smoldering rage at Kerrigan, but with the latter out of sight, and the former definitely not on his hit list, he had no place to vent his anger, minus some minor Zerg. "Grrrraaauuugh!" And he smashed the ground with Blast Finger, blowing away some Zerg and hoping he could somehow clear his mind before Dark Mao awakened and got ideas.

It was at that moment that someone came down from the sky, the winds surrounding her.

"Hello everyone! I have something to tell you all!"

"Wha...?" Thomas gasped as he barely parried a Zerg's blade-like appendages. He glanced at the fire rune on his right hand, normally he would already be throwing flame arrows and barricading himself behind a fire wall already but they're much weaker here.

"Come on, help us!" He shouted as he tried to track where everyone is.
