[Locked to Raiding Party:Gearing up and getting ready]rose_liberatedFebruary 13 2010, 21:32:02 UTC
Rozalin checked her inventory again. Two bandit hands, in case she saw any enemy with an item she absolutely had to get, a smattering of drinks and food to sustain herself in the field and a spare weapon in case some thief happened to want hers. As for what she had equipped, dressed to kill had seldom been more appropriate. Technically, in terms of pure stats and levelling her equipment now was superior to that she had used the last time she had fought against Baal.
And she might need every bit of that edge. Today's little raid was anything but little in its intentions, as every member of it had through some kind of netherworld savvy decided on the same course of action. Strike the head from the serpent and watch it writhe in its death struggle. Just one tiny detail remained unsolved...

Mao too had been rearranging some of his equipment--his cape was freshly cleaned and armored, his sword sharpened, his supply of mana restoring potions at the ready. "She lives out in that field, right?" Mao reminded her. "We make her eat her own Zerg strategy! Ignore the minions and cut down the bosses!"
He hoped to high hell that Reisen was alright, or hell would be there to pay.

Thomas arrived at the raiding party, sword on his hip, a bag of healing items slung over his shoulders, and there's markings on the back of his hands. "He...hello, I'm going to help out." He stated with a conviction that may throw people off balance.
"I got some healing items right off the shelves, and some runes set in, I may... I may not the strongest person around, but I will assist in what way I can."

Rozalin acknowledged Noel with a nod. "I doubt that they will be any major threat to you. I mean to give them a choice today, a choice they cannot survive. To accept the loss of the organs that direct and supply their strikes or the loss of those striking arms themselves. A classical education does have its benefits when it comes to matters of statecraft and strategy." Rozalin smiled to herself, pleased with the simplicity of the plan.
"If they do come after the castle, it will probably be the last attack they ever make. Baal's elite and his Majin still have yet to take the field. I could almost pity them if they run headlong into that force."
Re: [Locked to Raiding Party]handsonthepandaFebruary 13 2010, 22:02:02 UTC
"... Understood. Although it seems surprising that Baal have not yet acted in this... Now that I think it, they might be convinced that they can take even the entire Netherworld on, even if Kerrigan wins. That's..."
Noel quickly stood up. "... No, not worth thinking about. I look forward to your safe return, ma'am."

Rita walked in, carrying a few Plasma Grenades and a Energy sword on her waist(though you probably don't know what it is, since it is off) she got from an old fight against elites.
"Well haven't had to fight in a full on war before," Rita said. "I guess there is a first time for everything."
Rita looked around. "So, the rumors are true that a number of us have been taken already, huh? I don't seen Eirin anywhere."
Re: [Locked to Raiding Party]maocontentFebruary 13 2010, 22:30:02 UTC
"I do have to give Kerrigan props for all of her planning. A swarm of aliens, it seems almost so devious as to be genius!" Mao crowed. "But I can't let her succeed, at least, not before I understand how her swarm works!" There was something deeper that compelled him to stop her, but he ignored it. He was here for the excitement, and likely to make sure these damn things didn't touch Reisen.
"So we got Rozalin, the store guy, Rita, and... me." Mao counted out their party so far. He turned to Rozalin. "We can two-man this, can't we?"
Re: [Locked to Raiding Party]heroicfanboyFebruary 13 2010, 22:31:39 UTC
Almaz really wasn't too keen on helping out this particular time. With each day, it became harder to silence the voice inside his head telling him to kill every powerful thing he saw. Sometimes, he would actually try to defeat a generic demon or two with the pretense of 'practice'. So far, this attempts had only ended with Almaz on the floor, defeated by the victorious demon walking away in a fit of laughter. Needless to say, this often left Almaz with an even lower self-esteem than usual.
However, though the risk of approaching such a large amount of people in his current condition was quite dangerous, he couldn't allow Mao to enter a battle alone again. As his servant friend, it was his obligation to help him at times like this. Whatever was making him think so strangely, it had not yet progressed far enough to make him forget that.
"Hey Mao..." He said in out-of-character briefness. Almaz didn't want to think more than he had to, lest his thoughts started slipping out again.

"'Two manning' this will not be necessary." Rozalin did not approve of Mao's cavalier attitude. Dismissing the others out of hand might have been tactically correct, but it just showed how far he had to go to become a successful leader. "Everyone contributes as much as they can, and even the most minor thing can tip the scales of battle. To ignore someone who offers their aid would be beyond foolish."
Re: [Locked to Raiding Party]ihartsweetcurryFebruary 13 2010, 22:42:03 UTC
Thomas just sighed at 'Store guy'. He really should have expected that. "I won't get in your way," He swore as he put the bag down and opened it up - revealing a good-sized bundle of top-notch candies and other edibles of healing.
"Take some with you, I'll keep the rest on me, I'll Heal you guys so you can fo-focus more... on the en-enemy."
Re: [Locked to Raiding Party]famed_mageFebruary 13 2010, 22:49:45 UTC
"You got any Gels there Thomas?" Rita asked. She then turned to the others. "We should take whoever we can get. I noticed a few of our strongest disapeared over night. For example, Etna disappeared from my room last night, and all of her stuff is gone."
Re: [Locked to Raiding Party]maocontentFebruary 13 2010, 22:53:09 UTC
Mao grumbled. Rozalin had a point. "Fine, fine, do what you want!" Mao was thinking a bit too harshly, though he could probably backpedal and say it was a joke, but that would require making excuses--which was too much effort when he was about to embark on a quest for SCIENCE.
He turned to Almaz. "What is it? You don't look so hot."
Re: [Locked to Raiding Party]heroicfanboyFebruary 13 2010, 23:07:24 UTC
"Just... b-been a little tired lately. I guess Revya's invasion took more out of me than I thought, haha... N-Not enough to stop me from helping out with this, though!" He said. He didn't feel good lying to Mao (It probably didn't count as lying, considering how bad Almaz was at it), yet he adopted a cheerful exterior to lend his words credibility.
He turned to Rita upon hearing her talk about the disappearances. Frankly, Almaz was not surprised. It was just like Baal to take away people as quickly as they arrived. Almaz's resolve to get stronger and actually start working towards his defeat grew. Maybe battling some of the Zerg's troops would help him with that.
Re: [Locked to Raiding Party]rose_liberatedFebruary 13 2010, 23:28:47 UTC
Rozalin blinked in surprise at Rita's announcements. "Etna's gone? Well, that does weaken us quite a bit, doesn't it." Rozalin narrowed her eyes in calculation. "Things could be a bit harder when we deal with Baal now. Since she wasn't planning on joining this little expedition, I suppose it's not that bad now."
She looked around at the group and nodded once. "I have every confidence that you will all do your utmost."
And she might need every bit of that edge. Today's little raid was anything but little in its intentions, as every member of it had through some kind of netherworld savvy decided on the same course of action. Strike the head from the serpent and watch it writhe in its death struggle. Just one tiny detail remained unsolved...
"So, where exactly were we going again?"
