Kerrigan was...well...dressed up. She was taking it in stride though, and if she wasn't scary enough already, she was being followed around by two Hunter-Killer Hydralisks with santa hats. She had a glass of something expensive in one hand, and was prowling amongst the visitors, looking for those who stood out. For the interesting guests.

Over here near the reaper demons and the booze is a floating woman wrapped up in bandages and a funeral kimono. She has geay hair and redder-than-blood eyes. As was stated previously, she's floating and beneath her is a bundle of fog, obscuring any legs she might have had. Milling around her are some kind of black blobby things that seem to be taking orders from her as they scurry about, getting things for her like food and more drink.

She's having a delightful time discussing the ways the reapers have tortured a person upon death while drinking sake. Oh and I might have forgotten to mention, but she's got a pretty big psychic ping about her, what with her being a goddess of death and fogs of war and fogs.

Kerrigan approached the goddess, "I don't think you're from around here, I would have noticed. Welcome to our little celebration."

Izanami raises one eyebrow, partially in surprise and partially in amusement at seeing something that did not come from her husband's not!womb. Which means she automatically hates you less than most mortals She gives Kerrigan a ghost of a smile before taking a new bottle of sake, most likely stolen from Yukari when she wasn't looking, from the Shadow.

"Why no, I'm not, but thank you for the warm welcome."

Kerrigan watched the shadows scurry about on their various scouts. Her own escorts were much less useful outside of a fight. "That's quite a trick there. Did it take long to get them to do that?"

The Shadows burbled on the ground, their inconsistent gooey forms releasing gas. Izanami simply kept smiling, as Kerrigan's question brought up an amusing thought. "I wouldn't know; Nyx was the one who trained them, not me. But I don't think that it would have taken too long. They're essentially human, so this sort of cowing to their superiors would come naturally."

Kerrigan arched her eyebrows at this, "Humans, you say? They certainly seem more cowed than the idiotic prinnies infesting this place which, I am told, were also human at one point."

Izanami shot an eye over to glance at a Prinny. It exploded for some reason. "Ah, yes, those souls." Looking down at a nearby Shadow, which was starting to ooze over the feet of anyone nearby, including the reaper demons and Kerrigan. "These are less than those souls. They are the Shadow that lies behind humanity, the part of them that they hide in the fog of their own lies."

Kerrigan laughed, "That's perhaps a bit more philosophical than I'm prepared to deal with. I've always preferred a more straight forwards worldview."

Izanami laughed too, swishing her drink about in its saucer. "That is the straightforward answer, I'm afraid. The world itself must simply be seen from another angle."

"Well, well. Fancy meeting you here." Cain's voice was perhaps the only recognizable thing about him. Counting the multiplicity of extra arms and tentacles made of metal sprouting from his back, he now stood almost eight feet tall, and the rebreather covering his face concealed most of his distinguishing features. All in all, he looked like a truly nightmarish cyborg, out to harvest the flesh of the living.

Except for the curly straw shoved through his rebreather and into the glass he was holding. That broke the illusion up pretty well.

Kerrigan glanced over at the tall figure. While below average height for protoss, the commisar was still a trifle impressive just from the sheer business of his costume. The straw, though, made the whole thing look almost comical. Of course, Kerrigan was in no position to make fun of people for their costumes, so she didn't say anything on that subject. "Clearly it's the place to be. Planning on assaulting me again?"

"At a party? Please, I leave that to assassins." Cain waved with his drink to indicate the surroundings, revealing that he'd also altered his artificial hand to replace some of the fingers with a screwdriver and some kind of metal tentacle. "I hardly think that it would fit the decor. A bit too colorful." He let his eyes show a bit of a smile at that point. "Besides, such activities are hardly befitting a man of the cloth and the cog."

"Good god is that what priests look like where you come from?"

realfakehero November 2 2009, 01:22:58 UTC
"Tech-priests do. Your standard cleric is less heavy on the augmentics, more incense and the occasional Executioner, although only the really devoted and battle ready ones tend to carry one of those beasts. Tech-priests are something quite different." Cain hesitated for a bit and then pressed on. "Some people are just uncomfortable about the cogboys, but there's not a piece of technology they don't understand and do their best to keep happy. The Imperium has a million worlds, from Holy Terra to the lowest feral wasteland, and the Mechanicus has dominion over the machines of nearly all of them."

A young man, pale enough to be an albino approaches, dressed in a flowing monk's style robe with large, feathery white wings sprouting from his back, and a gauzy black blindfold over his eyes. He does not seem to care that some of the demons are shooting him nasty looks.

"Hello." Soma bows.
