Side note: A slaver engine is a creation of The Other, and is a massive, bloated creature that can produce soldier wasps (dog-sized bug things that serve to protect the queen) and slaver wasps (which are far smaller, but have the unique abbility to take over a person’s brain by flying into their mouth and burrowing into it. The person then becomes a “revanent”, a zombie-like servant to the Slaver queen, who in turn serves The Other.)
When they found her trail again, it was in Sturmhalten (Home of the Storm King, who is technically loyal to Wulfenbach, but had schemes of his own and a secret loyalty to The Other.). Gil was unable to go himself (due to his Father’s orders), so he sent his servant (who turned out to be an English secret agent) to get her after impressing on him the importance of keeping her safe. Despite this, the man was unable to save her. Not only was the trail was lost again, but it became known to the general public that Agatha Clay was, in fact, Agatha Heterodyne.
During the fiasco at Sturmhalten, Baron Wulfenbach was gravely injured, and brought to Mechanicsburg (the former stronghold and hometown of the missing Heterodynes) to recuperate. Gil stayed around to guard his father from assassins (The man was not a popular ruler, for the most part), until the city was attacked by agents of the Storm King trying to take advantage of the Baron’s injured state to fill in the power vacuum. Gil dealt with the invaders with a rather stunning display of technical prowess involving supercharging his lightning rod. After he recovered from the injuries he received doing this, he found out that Agatha had run off into Castle Heterodyne.
Castle Heterodyne was said, in its heyday, to be a fully conscious machine and engine of doom to any invaders. It has since been badly damaged, and it’s mind has been splintered badly. Subsystems are all jealously trying to protect themselves from invaders while instructing anyone around to go off to areas controlled by other subsystems to make crucial repairs. The end result is that anyone who goes into the castle constantly gets directions that almost universally send them to a horrible fate and messy death. Agatha, being the rightful owner of the castle, had a marked advantage in dealing with the insane systems of the castle (Namely, they should technically be under her control. And some parts of the castle do, indeed, recognize her.).
Gil gathered himself an angry mob, then made his way into Castle Heterodyne to find Agatha and confess his love to her. The current state of canon leaves him at the inner door to the castle at the head of the giant mob cheering him on.
Personality: Gil is a spark: someone who has been granted the capabilities to intuitively understand how everything around him works. Sparks are incredibly intelligent, but they are also usually at least a little bit insane. In short: Sparks are mad scientists. Gil will get an idea in his head, and he’ll immidiately run off to his lab to try to get it to work. Gears will fly, the laws of physics will be warped, and where there was once a coffee maker there will now be an automated barber, or something equally surreal. When a spark is in the area, expect dramatic crashes of thunder, manical laughter, and perversions of the laws of nature.
Gil is very good with machines, and is good at motivating people (through abject terror, mainly. He doesn’t like doing things that way, though.). Beyond that, he is actually kind of awkward when dealing with people, and frequently ends up sticking his foot in his mouth (especially when it comes to women.). He definitely has a large ego (that is somewhat substantiated.), which can lead to him making an ass of himself sometimes. He is usually somewhat stressed out by the fact that he really doesn’t want to rule an empire, but knows that he will have to some day.
When he’s calm, he’s actually very unagressive, and prefers building flying machines and teleporters over death rays and doomsday devices. When he gets angry, he gets very angry. It is in situations like these that you can really see his family resemblence to his father (thus, the motivation through fear I mentioned a moment ago.).
Class Title: Mad Scientist
Immediate Possessions: Gil’s lightning rod is the only device he consistantly seems to carry about (and he is capable of building devices the increase its power to fairly epic levels, though such devices are large and unstable.). Beyond this, he seems to have a nigh inexhaustable supply of surreal but useful devices on his person at any given time, from automatic hedge clippers to “Wacky-weave-destabilizers” (which vaporize any fabric on the person it is attached to. He dodges any questions as to why he carries something like that around with him.). He also has a Jagerhat, declaring him as “GILGAMESH WULFENBACH: SCHMOTT GUY!”
Deposited Possessions: Gil has a large lab filled with just about any kind of tool you could imagine. Said lab also contains quite a large number of half-finished projects, as he’s always working on something, and sometimes gets distracted by a new idea. Being the heir to an empire, he probably has a staggeringly large amount of money he can use.
Sample Entry: OH COME ON! This is ridiculous! At least Alpha Complex was intersting! This place is just…just…what is this place anyway? Let’s see…giant ominous castle in the distance…rivers of lava pouring over cracked and blasted landscape…horrid bat-winged creatures flying through the sky. Apparently I’m actually in Hell now. Fascinating!
Ah, taking from Alpha Complex... while that would be hilarious, it's also basically an AU, which isn't allowed. That and the Sample Entry is sliiiightly too short.
As discussed, a new sample entry and you're accepted.
Sample Entry: What...is...this!? Dammit, the isotopes on my sodium cycler need to be changed! That thing took me WEEKS to put together, and if it gets messed up now, I'll have to start from scratch! WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS!? THE MARCH OF SCIENCE IS BEING HELD BACK, AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO BURN FOR IT!
OK...ok...deep breaths...use your logic... Where am I? Let’s see…giant ominous castle in the distance…rivers of lava pouring over cracked and blasted landscape…horrid bat-winged creatures flying through the sky. Apparently I’m actually in Hell now. Fascinating.
