Priel fused the Water Lapistier with Kingston, turning him into a psychotic killing machine determined to serve God’s whim. Vanessa and the rest defeated him. Despite this, Priel was happy because Kingston had distracted the group long enough to allow God to hatch. The planet itself reacted to Zehaal’s resurrection and attempted to contain his power. Priel and Zehaal went to the center of the planet, intending to destroy it to destroy the planet itself.
Vanessa and the rest followed them to the heart of the planet and defeated Priel in battle. Zehaal devoured Priel. After battling Zehaal once, he did the expected, typical thing and transformed into his second and true form, which was pretty enormous. The Witches-including Vanessa, of course-combined their powers to use the Spear of Dawn, which was capable of destroying God itself. Alph used his powers as a dragon to protect everyone and the planet’s heart.
Personality: As should be expected, the Witch of Immolation’s personality is based around fire. She is strong, proud impulsive, rude, and dislikes being controlled. Of course, due to her superficial behavior, other people have a tendency to think of her as being selfish or cruel.
When it comes down to it, Vanessa is actually a good person. The reason she assaulted the human bases to acquire Lapistier was to save the world, which she likely feels the most emotional about out of all the Witches, lending to her impulsivity. Even though she fought against the other Witches, she did so out of her need to save the planet.
Vanessa is not as cruel as her violent tendencies suggest. She does love the other Witches and wanted to avoid human casualties, but her priority was to save the planet as quickly and as effectively as possible. As stated in the background, the deaths caused by the Lapistiers were due to the CHURCH’S actions, not Vanessa’s. She also deliberately saved the Witches and Alph’s group when Iris was going to use her atom-bomb-like magic attack; Vanessa could have easily saved herself or likely herself and the few Witches there, but she asked Mel for help most likely to ensure she could save everyone.
While she’s rude to even her friends, she does care about them. She has no animosity towards Mavi, despite the two always arguing. She and Mavi are actually fairly alike and the Nature Witch would likely do the same as Vanessa if it weren’t for Claire being against it, since Mavi’s respect for Lady Claire goes above everything else.
Speaking of Claire, while Vanessa freely goes against her and despises her indecisiveness, she actually does respect the leader of the Witches. She harasses Claire to help her be a better leader, either by pointing out mistakes or problems that the other Witches, out of respect for their leader, would not mention; her harassment is also done in an attempt to goad her into making a definite decision rather than floundering around.
When Claire DOES put her foot down and makes a decision, Vanessa obeys and was actually happy that Claire made a decision without doubting herself immediately after. After all, if Vanessa did not respect Claire, she would have attempted to usurp the role of leader of the Witches a long, long time ago. Vanessa cares greatly about Claire and does want the woman to be a good leader.
While she orders them around and makes them fight for her, Vanessa cares about her monsters Gul and Gal. She found them when she and the monsters were young and raised them. They are typically only comfortable with Vanessa, but she’s willing to allow others to try and befriend her pets and actually enjoys the thought.
Another example of her caring for her friends was Vanessa being the most outspoken person (aside from Alph) against the use of the Spear of Dawn, since there was a very high chance of Lucia dying in the process. She would likely defend any of her friends if someone ELSE attempted to treat them badly; she seems to treat most of them badly herself, but it’s her own weird way of helping them.
