So I have this really great healer with -43 AC and Magicbane and a bunch of wishes in his back pocket. Everything's gone great, my ascension kit is perfect, I can take down minotaurs and emerge unscathed ( Read more... )

Hm, true.

The sad part is I did have GDSM + amulet of reflection a long time ago, but then switched it out for SDSM + Magicbane + amulet of ESP as soon as I found dragon scales. Which was kind of greedy, and stupid. =\

ESP intrinsic is easy to get by eating floating eyes. Hardly worth the amulet.

Now the amulet of life saving IS worth always wearing. Rarely do I have time in combat to recognize I'm going to bite it, take off whatever other amulet I have on, and put on "oLS.

And many times I've been saved from YASD by wearing it. In this case you might have been spared and had time to hit Rodney with the rubber chicken.

lol I rarely wear AoLS. which is probably why I die so much. :p

I count at least 2, maybe 3 wishes in your inventory (magic lamp and a 1:1 wand of wishing).

The Robe isn't very useful, a cloak of magic resistance would have been better.

Also, I'd have blessed those 5 potions of gain level and swallowed them.

Ditto for the gain energy potions; swallow to increase max energy.

And again for the various healing potions to increase max hp.

Wow, I completely forgot cloaks of magic resistance exist! Guess I should've wished for that instead of the robe. :D

Ooh, ouch. I have a healthy respect for the effort it takes to get a Healer ascendable. So this is a particularly winceworthy YASD!

Major sympathies, anyway. I've only gotten a Healer past the Quest like maybe once. Just enough to realize exactly how badass the Staff of Aesculapius is.
