Grades and such
Most important things first:
I GOT A 2:1 ON MY PROJECT!
I am, needless to say, rather happy about this. In fact, I thought I'd be getting a 2:2 or even a 3rd (cause my evaluations are crap normally). But we did the project well, my evaluation was good (if slightly off focus) and.. I got a 2:1! Basically, if there are no A*, then a 2:1 is a B. Kinda. Not sure of the actual percentage, but near as I can figure, high 60s.

Parents were both pleased, as was granma. Who then proceeded to talk about a bunch of people I don't know and have only heard the names of once or twice before. Second cousins once removed or something like that.
Secondly, there is teh Torchwood Wank debacle. Someone on LJ made a post (now flocked) about how Torchwood didn't have enough racial diversity and was thus so teh racist bastard. Calling any atempts to point out that there's this big ethnic issue between the English and the non-English British groups as made up, petty and basically calling any prejudice and mistreatment there a lie. And that's asside from the fact there is, in fact, an Asian main character, another one who's omnisexual, and then there was Costello who was also non-white (aparently, I didn't notice) as well as various side line characters. It's managed to get a lot of people up in a huff, rightfully I suppose, because this woman clearly has no idea what the frell she's on about. Needless to say, British ethnic issues are far different to American ones, and also Wales is almost entierly white. More details HERE.
Actually, the most important issue that arises from this is this big culture clash. Some one tried to point out that Britain is essentially White Christian for the most point, to one of the people on their flist, and was called a racist, white supremecist bastard for pointing the statistics when trying to correct people on them. Basically, the American sense of ethnic diversity and opresion is being transplanted on every where else, causing many a problem and many apearences of stupidity. Hrmmm. There followed a discussion on there's British Muslims and British Hindus and so on, but really we don't do the hyphonated thing that much. At this point I felt like shouting out British-American Athiest, yo but couldn't, due to me not having an acount on there.
And then there was this most amusing thread on the Oppresion of the Pteradactyl and Sheep that you have got to READ. I was laughing so hard I was crying. Ignore the wank if you want, but read that thread! It's a complete and utter mickey take on, well, life. It's satire, and funny!
