It's a quibble, but this Doctor Rodney McKay, PhD
is redundant. Speaking as someone who has the three letters, in North America it's either Dr. John Blonde, or John Blonde, PhD, but not both.

As for identifying with Rodney... man, right down to the hypoglycemia.

Neuroscience, so about the middle of the continuum between Beckett and McKay (biophysics, biochemistry, and molecular biology).

That's an interesting analysis. I don't know if I agree with it for most people, necessarily, but I can certainly see how many fen would identify with Rodney. Additionally, miriamheddy raised an interesting point in cereta's post about how Rodney, despite being an uber genius, is also easily accessible
