Dear Dias,

...Now that I think of it, you don't seem like the sort of guy who'd be into writing letters. I could see you tossing something that was a bit too long, so I'll try not to make this boring, okay? Anyway, back home we have something called e-mail that zips off to someone in an instant. It's much faster than sending a letter, even if it's by bird or horse. I guess you aren't real interested in that sort of stuff, but it's possible Expel will have something like that sometime down the road. It'd sure make entering the Tournament of Arms a lot faster, don't you think?

You know, it used to be difficult for me to imagine what it would have been like if you'd traveled with me, Rena and the others after all. Maybe it's the same for you, or maybe it's not, I don't know. Either way, I'm glad to know you've got my back, and I hope you know I've got yours, too. If we both do what we can to stay alive and in one piece, I'm sure we'll find a way out of this mess. And, more importantly, a way to find everything we've lost.

Oh, right, I was supposed to keep this from getting too long, wasn't I? Don't worry, I don't expect you to write back or anything.
