So i am here, and getting settled, drinking my tea and eating some 'brekkie'. we live in a huge two story house, myself, Nikki, Demetri (from Oshawa), Matt (from Australia)and Thomas (from Germany) mostly live in the basement. The house is pretty funny, we live about a half hour walk away from the school, so its kind of in the middle of no where. Our closest neighbour is about 50 metres away, and we have a big 'paddock' in the back yard where Nic and Kevin have seen kangaroos, but we haven't yet. I saw one when we were driving home from town last night, they are huge. Like 8 ft tall. Large, people.

Also, we have what are called 'flying foxes', these massive huge bats with the wingspan of sea gull and the body of a small cat. They live in the trees in the city during the day and then tons of them fly across the bay to Fraser Island at dusk. I guess in August, at their peak, the sky is black with them. They are also loud, and when they are in the trees around the house, they sound like cat fighting at night. Thats one thing that is crazy about being here, all the animals are so loud. Each morning, I am woken up by the Kookaburras outside 'laughing', and all day other birds are screaming in the trees. It is awesome.

Yesterday, we went to the beach, bbqed and we were going to go snorkling but it was fucking cold, so we just ended up walking out on the rocks because the tide was out. We found all sorts of little crabs and snails and stuff, and the boys tried going swimming but punked out.

Today, I am going to try and find a bike to buy, and if I find out, I am going exploring.

it is weird being so far away. I don't really have a chance to think about it much during the day, we are so busy and there is so much to do and talk about and see. But at night, it really hits me, and there is little left to distract me from being lonely, or sad. I am loving the internet, though. It makes it easier. Also, its really not that long of a time. But try tell me that at 3 m when I can't sleep, hehe.

All in all, though, this is good. Everyone gets along and has fun, and it is a crazy cool experiance. But, just so all you at home know, I completely miss the shit out of you.
