[And, in a little while, Pokey'll be strolling into your backyard Ness. He doesn't look particularly different, although a lot of his...proud demeanor has changed. The last month or so hasn't been too good for it.
He just looks at you for a moment.]

Yeah, he'll never get used to that, and he just leers away for a moment as Ness runs over to him,looking him over. He tries to glower a little bit, burying his hands in his pockets.]
I'm fine, idiot. The last few weeks have just been stupid.

[Ness hadn't really been bothering with the news about town, so forgive him for being so ignorant. Ness is at the point of just keeping his nose clean, his head down, and using the best of his ability to stay out of trouble.. until now.]
"Well, no need to worry anymore! This will definitely put us one step ahead for the next time some thing like that happens! See?"
[Ness sweeps a hand out to the pile of lumber amassed over the back yard lawn. Yup, that's a lot of wood. Nothing more, mothing less.]
"Well? What do you think?"

[He's tempted to ask you how much you know, Ness. If you knew what they were doing there. Or to tell you. In the past, he would've just told you to see you probably cry at the thought of people being used the way they were. But now? He can't. He just...can't.
He'll leave it for now and look at the lumber.]
Well it's....wood. A lot of wood.

[Ness holds out his hands bashfully. They look as if they'd been run through a meat grinder. His fingers were covered in nothing but adhesive strips and gauge wrappings, not to mention the palms of his hands were raw and red with bruises and blisters.]
"It took a while finding it all and carrying it back here, but it'll be worth it once we've got ourselves a new tree house."
