1) at least you've dipped your toes in the wizardry water... now go to http://ebooksdirect.dianeduane.com/ and read the rest! (This site has all the new millennium versions, so fewer techno-WTH? moments, plus a couple of short stories and a novella that haven't shown up on amazon yet.)
2) really glad you liked the mix. The bit about 'want to bounce around and destroy evil'... did I mention that one of the reasons Dairine takes the Oath is because she wants to beat up Darth Vader? Also, when I first added the Hayden song to the mix - it wasn't ironic. I stumbled across the song right before she did Heroes, back in her last days in the Disney stable. I hope that Nita and Kit would like some of these songs, too.
3) ding ding ding! Yes, that was a DF reference. There are some moments in a series that are so awesome that everyone remembers them... I have a feeling that Butcher's not going to top that one until the Apocalyptic trilogy he's going to end the series with. Just finished the Cinder Spires book 1 yesterday, and now impatiently waiting for Peace Talks in January 2016 (at least Butcher releases his books at a decent, regular basis!). Whenever I get a new Butcher, I don't let myself crack it open until the weekend - when I dive into a Butcher book, I don't come up for air until I finish it, or someone drags me back, whichever comes first.
