FANMIX x 2 FOR AVENGERS CROSSOVER BIGBANG
Weird - I had to drop out of Avengers crossover bigbang as an authour because my first idea wasn't going to make 5K, and my second (my Iron Man/Full Metal Panic! fusion, War Child, which I really will get around to finishing at some point! I have it nearly all plotted out now!) wasn't even going to have the first part finished in time. So I signed up as an artist instead, and even as a pinch-hitter... and both my authors dropped out. (gloom) One couldn't finish their fic due to Hurricane Sandy-caused powercuts, the other... well, I'm not really sure why, I was told personal reasons (which is fair enough; after all, they're personal). Both authours were fine with my posting, since I'd already finished (and to be honest? they had better have been!) I'm going to go ahead. The titles and authors of each fic are mentioned on the front covers, so if you want to keep an eye out for the fics when they're finished and posted somewhere you can.
One of the main reasons I wanted to post these so badly is that I did a lot more finessing with the covers than usual, and I'm sort of proud of myself for producing more sophisticated artwork than I normally do (there's a reason I always specify I'll be producing fanmixes when I sign up as an artist!)

It’s weird, really - just a week or so before I did this, I was telling the most recent author I made a soundtrack for that I never do straight fanmixes for stories - it’s always soundtracks. Then I was assigned this story, and I was a little worried - because how easy is it to find eight song-worthy incidents in a 5K fic? To make matters worse, I found that the usual thought process wasn’t happening. While puzzling over this, I realized that I had no less than four songs tentatively from Marta’s POV, and hit on the idea of simply doing mini-arcs of character POV songs. Then it came so easily, I had the whole tracklist in about an hour!
As for the covers; I was suddenly SO thankful for my habit of randomly saving any pics that look like I might use them later; the pic of Renner partially reflected in the window was perfect, showing the partial past self coming to the surface. I finally worked out how to use the color bar on the windows picture manager, and did my best to make the pic of Marta and Aaron colorless and faded, and amped up the Clint and Natasha pic (and on the back cover, the single shot of Natasha) as vividly colored and bright as I could without ruining the pic; like the half-blown match, it’s meant to symbolise the fading of Aaron (and his relationship with Marta) as opposed to the full, vibrant life Clint leads with Natasha.
