Yes I feel like Marie Antoinette in a shoujo anime. I think I actually start to sparkle and get this weird glazed look whenever he is on screen.

Oh my God, here we go: Aramis, d'Artagnan, Porthos, Tréville, Richelieu, Duke of Savoy, Rémi, Milady, even freaking Marsac, come on now, the man is a free-for-all-buffet

My unpopular opinion about this character:
I don't like it when the fandom erases his sass and dry humor and substitutes it with... whining? Like where the hell did you even get that from.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
Why on earth would they mix Porthos' backstory/FEELS ABOUT SLAVERY with Athos' horrible memories from the past. Dear God, what the hell. AND GIMME SOME INTERACTION WITH RÉMI OKAY. JUST ONE LINE OF DIALOGUE WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE, I CAN'T HEADCANON EVERYTHING DDX

Athos being submissive in bed and nowhere else. He enjoys being overpowered but he denies himself this pleasure more often than not because he is terrified of what people would think of him.

a head canon fact:
I already posted this but here we go again (I just need it to remind myself to write a fic XD).
I'm getting serious evil!Thomas vibes from the show what with Athos' bitterness and "Everyone's favourite" and what not. Maybe their father died during an accident and Thomas claims that Athos is responsible for that (maybe a riding accident and the father had used Athos' horse) and makes his life a living hell - and although Athos is now the Comte de la Fère he doesn't defend himself against his brother's shenanigans because it was drilled into Athos' head that Thomas is the better son/man, worth more than ten of Athos together, and basically Athos' thinks so too now (probably Athos was a rather.. slow child, disappointing his father left and right and when Thomas came along Athos' shortcomings became even more obvious?)

So he is abused and exploited by Thomas - right up until Anne comes along and they fall in love and it's the first time in like... forever, that Athos is actually happy and starts to believe that maybe just maybe he isn't that much of a monster as everybody tells him he is. Then, Thomas starts to get jealous of Milady and fears that his influence on Athos' is dwindling and what would happen if Anne gets pregnant??? So Thomas digs around, discovers Anne's criminal past and threatens to expose her. But since Anne isn't as much of a push-over as is Athos, she defends herself furiously, killing Thomas (maybe even by accident?), therefore forcing Athos to condemn her to death because yes he loves her but he has a really terrible black and white notion of justice.
And then Athos looks into the mirror the day after the execution and finds that he just killed the love of his life - he truly is a horrible monster.
