Female Character Challenge - The ladies need our love part 6

Feb 15, 2013 00:15

Day Twenty-Six: Favourite classical female character (from pre-20th century literature or mythology or the like)

Cassandra

Yeah I cheated a bit because Disney’s Hercules version of Cassandra is the one I remember most fondly - but even before that I have always been fascinated by the inherent tragic of Cassandra of Troy. No one ever listens to her or takes her serious - I bet every teenage girl ever can empathize? ;D and she has to face the downfall of her whole world without being able to stop it although she tries her hardest. <33

Day Twenty-Seven: A female character you have extensive personal canon for

Ingrid Third - Disney’s Fillmore

“Fillmore” is one of those Disney series I watched over and over again, trying to forget that it ended after only two seasons with only 13 episodes each. This series had everything: crime plots, lovely parody elements, a very diverse cast (Afro-Americans, Italian-Americans, Mexican-Americans, Japanese-Americans, Irish-Americans…)
And it had Ingrid Third, the headstrong super-genius, Fillmore’s new partner, the bookworm, the wonderful, industrious, all around kick-ass woman. <3333
Ingrid is great - she fits perfectly into the team although she doesn’t have an easy start and she has a huuuuuge lot of Les-Yay with Malika of the Red Robins - and that’s basically where my headcanon starts: Ingrid discovers her bisexuality thanks to Malika and when she starts college (Engineering of all kinds, she can’t decide at first) she sleeps round like a wildcat, partying hard and having the time of her life before she starts working for the CIA (eidetic memory is very helpful xD) - and meets Fillmore again, whom she lost contact with during college and they form a team once again, solving the biggest crimes ever (and having some sort of friends with benefits thing going on because they are going to be wonderfully uncomplicated and trust each other with their life (and yeah they kinda are my OTP).
Oh, and bronies? Ingrid was voiced by Tara Strong aka Twilight Sparkle. ;D

Day Twenty-Eight: Favourite female writer (television, books, movies, etc.)

Victoria Schlederer - Des Teufels Maskerade, Fortunas Flug

and Lauren Faust - Powerpuff Girls, My Little Pony, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and all the other cool shit

Both of these ladies rocked my world: fantasy, romance, adventure, amazing humour and great and loveable characters are trademarks of both of these creative writers and I am soooo looking forward to new developments and projects from these two (like when is the new book coming out and this looks really really great!)

Day Twenty-Nine: A female-centric fic rec

Komizu - a coop by pardotje and nessaniel

(the two ladies in the suits - good quality pics, what are they?)

Mit all meiner Seele."

Yes I had to shamelessly promote myself but I must say that the fanfiction pardotje and I wrote after our “Datenshi no Namida”-marathon holds a very special place in my heart. Takarazuka-actresses are incredibly attractive and due to the various roles they portray, emotions could be boiling beneath the surface, who knows? So we decided to ship Komu and Mizu, the two main characters of “Datenshi no Namida” who have all the UST on stage and because of Komu having to leave the theatre for good, those two also had a very dramatic vibe to them. Sadly, the fandom is soooooo tiny that we never published our fanfic although I think it is very romantic and wonderful. *shameless selfpromotion out*

Day Thirty: Whatever you'd like

Ranting, because I can and because I can’t think of anything else

Jesus Christ, this challenge was... challenging indeed mostly because my fandoms don’t have many female characters (action movies, crime shows, blahblahblah) I can relate to (or that I even like). There is nothing I despise more than the typical Michelle Rodriguez-role: aka the emotionally stunted action girl, who can fight like mad but gets zero points in the compassion department - and I am so sorry for Rodriguez. She is awesome and can kick ass and I want her in “Expendabelles” so bad, but I hate this stereotype and I sure hope they will give us more perfect characters like Meggie or Victoria from “Red” or all those other great superladies (in non-spaceship settings. Please).
Ranting out. Sorry for ending on such a bad note but I’m really tired and incredibly disappointed by “Die Hard 5” although Jay Courtney is a cutie-pie.
