I Haven't Decided on a Title Yet

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour is an amazing band.  Gotta say that.

Caved and finally bought Season 1 of Gossip Girl on DVD.  Hey, it was on sale at Best Buy, what can I say?  I'm addicted.  It also comes with a free audio download of the first book, read by none other than Christina Ricci.  WTF.

Leveling fun in WoW.  Marenne's 56, about halfway to 57.  The others are lagging behind, but I'm just getting into a rhythm, and must continue!  I want to get to 60 by the end of this week so I can get my new mount!  Haven't decided on which saber yet, perhaps people could help me out to decide?  (Chris, this means you!)

Almost done with my book.  Hoping to be finished with it by this afternoon, and I haven't yet decided on a new book.  I was originally thinking historical fiction, but it needs to be something really page-turning.  Also would prefer a hardcover, since I won't be able to bring it to work much to read anyway.  Might as well save the paperbacks for a time when I can bring them along places.

Speaking of doing other things at work, I've been steadily studying Chinese, trying to memorize and completely retain the entirety of the first book in prep for the fall.  I've got up through Lesson 4, which isn't bad.  I've been slacking the past couple of days due to my insane work hours, but this week should be better, and next week I only have 4 days of work due to Memorial Day, so I should have plenty of time.

Also, need to start studying for the Foreign Services Officer Test.  Test is in West Allis on June 11th, and considering the current work situation, I want outta here FAST.  I'm going to try my hardest to study whatever I can before that, and hope my Mandarin skill level will give me a few booster points so they interview me despite any score I might have on the test.  Apparently they give quite a bit extra for a "critical needs language," so I just need to study the material and then as much Chinese as I can before then.  Study a go!

I hope I'm getting into more of a rhythm here with work and all, but I really can't wait for Chris to come home.  There's just this hugely empty feeling I have every night before I go to bed, or when no one else is home, or when I pick up my phone to call someone and don't know who to call.  I think it's great that he's studied abroad and spent this time there and all, but I can't help but miss him like crazy.  There's so little time left until he comes home, too, I'm excited!  I'm going with his parents on the 12th to pick him up...can't wait!

Shelly's grad party was fantastic; much better than I was originally expecting.  We spent all night with friends, playing pool, playing Rock Band and messing around in the hot tub.  I have bruises all over my butt and back from slamming into the floor and walls of the hot tub chasing after that damn pool ball.  Also, silent congrats to Matt, who effectively taught us all how to play "crotch ball."  It was fun, despite the dirty connotations!

I'll feel like a total grown-up tomorrow when I call to negotiate a payment plan on my school loans.  Gah.  Also, I'm considering refinancing my car loan through the UW, since I'm going to be indebted to them for the next 30 years anyway, and I think I can save anywhere from 1-2% on my loan by doing this.  Doesn't sound like much, but over the next 5 years it most certainly will be.

Gonna talk to Chris in about an hour, then go to Mermaid and wait for what I'm expecting to be about 5 hours for my car to get washed.  Jason at East Towne says they do a great job, though, and they're way less expensive than Octopus, who really doesn't offer a good full-service car wash package.  It's not that my car is really dirty, it's just I don't have a backyard, driveway, water hose, or shop vac in order to do the damn thing myself.  Otherwise I would, really.  My dad also wants me to come home some day this summer and we're going to wax the two new cars together.  Ooh, goody!

Recently found a VERY old friend on Facebook, of course using the alias she took in mid-High School.  It's weird to be speaking to her again, and what's even weirder is that the next time I see her in person, it may just be in China.  Wow.  Random.

Updating again soon with part 2 of the Europe trip.  I've been going over it in my head and decided most people knew what happened and where we went, but I do have videos, more pics and some fun stories to tell that some people don't know.  I'll update tonight or tomorrow with it, most likely.

Off to try my hand at beating Ted Nugent (again) on Guitar Hero.  *sigh*
