Being a fan of and being influenced by so many people whose work stems from the past is a hard thing to deal with, knowing that all of these people will--provided my life continues into old age--be gone during my lifetime. With the passing of Harold Ramis it occured to me just how staggering this list truly is:

Peter Townshend
Roger Daltrey
Michael Nesmith
Peter Tork
Micky Dolenz
Paul McCartney
Ringo Starr
Dan Aykroyd
Bill Murray
Robin Williams
John Cleese
Michael Palin
Terry Gilliam
Terry Jones
Eric Idle
Rick Moranis
Dave Thomas
Joe Flaherty
Eugene Levy
Andrea Martin
Martin Short
William Shatner
Leonard Nimoy
George Takei
Walter Koenig
Nichelle Nichols
Patrick Stewart
Jonathan Frakes
LeVar Burton
Gates McFadden
Michael Dorn
Brent Spiner
Marina Sirtis
John Larroquette
Harry Anderson
Alan Alda
Mike Farrell
David Ogden Stiers
Christopher Lloyd
Richard Dean Anderson
Richard Moll
Ian McKellen
Christopher Lee
Sylvester Stallone
Arnold Schwarzeneggar

And it occurs to me just how few people that have moved me or touched me or inspired me entertainment-wise are my age or around my age. To my knowledge there's just four at the moment--Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Jason Momoa, and Benedict Cumberbatch. Sparse list.

So it's true in a sense that I know perfectly well how my neromancers on Earth feel.
