There's a certain psychological oddity to writing something, producing words from your own brain, your own plotline, you've been in control of it the WHOLE TIME, and then rereading what you've written and having it scare you.
The circumstances and details all came from my brain, my fingers have typed all the words, and yet right now I've been scanning over what I have so far (six thousand words in a few days, yay!) and found myself startled by the very creation of my own mind.
