Arrrr!.... Mew?

Busy Headed... that means thoughts are bouncing around in my head in random order at different speeds. I have been told this means I have ADD. Eh, whatever. What it means is that I sometimes have trouble sleeping because I'm thinking too much, sometimes about good things, sometimes about bad. Lately it's been projects and stories and favorite books and beauty and movies and LARPing and table top games and kittens and... well, you get the idea.

The weekend was pretty darned good. Was all piratey Saturday at the Renfest. It was waaaay crowded so there wasn't much chance for mingling and chatting, so I hung close to a core group of people I already knew. I don't know if I just haven't been paying attention, but there seems to be more organization amongst the revelers at Pirate Weekend. There's groups with flags and colors and all sorts of pins with "order of this" "brotherhood of that". It all seemed very close knit and no one was looking for new members. (ok, if I had any cleavage I'm sure I could have inserted myself into a conversation, but... *smirk*)

I would really like to know more about what was going on, or the several somethings that were going on, but I think I'd have to become a "wench" or a "rogue" or something and we've already determined I'm not very wench-like and while I'm a rascal I'm not sufficiently interested in women's bodices to be a rogue.

Saw a guy that looked more Irish than I do, and more like a leprechaun only he's about 6ft tall and 135lbs soaking wet. Also, I finally got a drinking vessel. A couple of good pics were taken of me helping me to feel a little better about my appearance. I've been taking some awful photos lately.

I got tipsy at the Renfest and got a henna tattoo. I love the look of it, but it cost way too much for what it is. I've decided that henna tattoos would be awesome fun for a girl's night. I will do more musing on the henna tattoo thing later, possibly in telfs_tea_room. I may be calling for guinea pigs at some point.

After Renfest was some much needed quality time with The Taciturn Ranger. Sometimes the one you love provides the best therapy. My spirits have been greatly improved since.

Sunday I had to work, but after work I went see a litter of kittens to pick one out. OMG! so cute! They were only three weeks old and barely walking. They'd just started playing with each other, too. I wanted them all!

The one I picked was the ornery one. When I reached down for the first time to grab a kitten, all the others were frightened and mewing "what's going on? Momma!" while this kitten looked up at me and hissed. At three weeks old she wanted to kick my butt. Heh. She seems very independent preferring bugs or blanket chewing to tussling with her larger litter mates, though she joins in once they've wound down a bit. I think she's the best pick to go with our current cat.

The new kitten is a tuxedo cat with a little white stripe down her nose that looks like a dueling scar. Instead of white mittens or socks on her front feet, just her toes are white. It looks like she's wearing fingerless gloves. So cute. It'll be at least three more weeks before I can bring her home.

I've been jonesing to LARP something fierce. I'm better at social and possible political manipulation than I am at "ok, we'll sneak around the thing, get the guard and get the stuff" which doesn't go as well with table top games. There's a bunch of other factors too, but I'll probably go into that in a separate post. I've got to get back to work.
