psych

Today I would like to present Psych. From what I have of it, which is Season 2. It reminds me of Scrubs meet CSI, minus the hospital and sans bloody details. It's wacky, crazy and I don't think I've seen a crazier show with crazier (but less heinous) crimes. So wha's Psych about, you might ask. We will let the main costar, Shawn Spencer start from the basics.

"Phsysics! The physics of psychics. I, Professor Shawn Spencer- I will be your psychic ferryman over the River Styx. That's Gus, my fairy ferry."

"Each one of us is born with a kernel that I'd like to dub "paranormavalence". I, however, was born with an extra normal amount. 2 cups to be exact."

And this is how Shawn is able to sense things that allow him to solve crime. As for Burton Guster, otherwise known as Gus, he's the non-psychic partner, with super-sniffing powers. A little known fact of Gus is that one of his favourite books is the "Elements of Style" by Strunk and White. I have treasured this book since an English course but omg.

These two own a business called psych and they can be spotted driving around Santa Barbara in Gus'... very blue Toyota Yaris. Strangely enough, I happen to see the same car make and colour driving past me in this very week. Anyway, the Santa Barbara Police Department (SBPD) sometimes hire them as an extension to their force.

This is Carlton Lassiter, the non-believer. He's the Head Detective of the SBPD, and usually not happy. If you haven't already guessed, he's not just a cynic of the whole psychic whoo-ha. He's especially against Shawn.

Perhaps it has something to do with the craziest thing he's ever done, which in his own words is "getting out of bed every day".

And this is Lassiter's testimony for Shawn:
Fine. It may kill me to write this next sentence. But in the interest of therapy and finding my inner Chi and balancing my charkas and all that crap, I'm going to write it anyway: In the end, Spencer turned out to be somewhat useful.

In the end.

He led us to the end of the line on a case. I don't know how and I don't care. When it was all over, one of my men, a good man who's been on the wrong end of my temper more than once, got to wake up and see another day.

:D Lassi calls him Spencer, yes? In Season 2, episode 9... I believe he said "Shawn" somewhere. XD HELLO FANDOM.

We mustn't forget Shawn's father - Henry Spencer, who honed Shawn's abilities to what they are today. Like most fathers of main characters, he is somewhat disappointed with the career path his son chose to take.

There are also females in this series but I can't find much to say about them really (but Juliet O'Hara and Shawn are quite cute together). They may be blonde, but only Juliet shows that side from time to time.

This is Juliet. Shawn likes to call her Jules. Jules looks like this (õ_ô) when Shawn tries to hit on her.

Karen Vick is the Interim Chief of SBPD. Particularly how she looks when she gets no sleep and there's no coffee left in the pot. Who the hell would do this kind of thing?!

This series is simply crazy. Reasons for being (as from Season 2):

#1. Dynamic Duo. Almost as tight as JD and Turk are together, these two were childhood friends, engaging in heaps of crazy things.

#2. Extra crazy stuff featured during credits. The actors sure are one fun bunch. :D

#3. Dynamic Duo as children back in 1987. But this never happened: Big Shawn talking to Little Shawn right in his own head.

#4. GUEST STARS. And they make the show more awesomer.

Hardly amused and impressed.

IS THAT LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS?

Why yes it is! Why are you so hunky? D8 I cannot believe you look so different to when you played Ritchie Valens. His shirt is off because Lassi spilled coffee on his tee-shirt. Thankfully, he carries around an extra clean, white crisp shirt...

And again, for the emphasis. Um. Something about his back pocket. I'm beginning to notice how these actors are all getting old...

So that's where KEVIN SORBO WENT.

Dude, so getting older you are. ;_; Contemplating on watching all of Hercules again. You know. When he didn't have those crow's feet.

#5. Lassiter's reaction to Shawn's antics.

:D

Without tinted_glass, I would never have started on this show. :D ♥ It makes me so happy.
