April's Articles

May 01, 2010 01:43

Well, it's been quite an interesting month!

First, my Kingdoms of Camelot article hit the viewpoint jackpot and is landing me 50 views per day. Hooray! :)

Then, eHow's WCP program folded up. I tried valiantly to end with an even 40 articles but they did a ton of last-minute deleting of things (the dirty rat bastards). So now I still only have 39. -.-

However, because eHow's WCP program folded up, they let me into Demand Studios! Even though they'd rejected me back in December! More hooray! :)

Then they rejected two of my articles, one of them for no reason. -.-

So I took all the rejects and used them to start a new blog! Future hooray? ;)

Then my ecology article for Bright Hub got rejected because the editor didn't really want to know the play-by-play trials and tribulations of finding my quote reference. -.-

And so did my brilliantly crafted work of SEO art Castle Age series, because the editor felt I'd used too many keywords, and what I really needed to do was hack it to pieces. -.- *ear fumes*

But because this is Bright Hub and not Demand Studios, I could argue about it and win! So after some heroically epic haggling, they all ended up published! Hooray! :)

And with all that ado, here's the final list:

4 Tips for Kingdoms of Camelot (Facebook Game) Beginners and Low Might Players - "Help! Someone keeps attacking me! They're killing my troops and stealing my stuff! What can I do?" Has this happened to you while playing the game Kingdoms of Camelot on Facebook? You're not alone, and there are steps you can take to make them go away. In short: these are the things I kept saying over and over to my alliance members all last month.

How to use the grid method to copy artwork - the only survivor of my last-minute efforts to get to 40 at eHow. This one was originally going to have pictures to demonstrate, but it turns out that I'm not very good at copying artwork even with the grid method. T.T

My latest blog - Basically, after much thought, I've decided that I know a little about lots of things but lots about nothing. However, I do enjoy answering questions about random things. So I'm trying something completely different: a blog with no particular topic at all! We'll see if it flies... :)

My Demand Studios articles - here's where the list of them will be. (No it's not my real name.) I don't get any more money for these, so I'm not going to promote them, but that's what I've been writing for $15 apiece. (Those familiar with RPoL's image gallery might find "my" appearance familiar... >.> )

Causes of Change in an Ecosystem - Ecosystems are places that naturally change over time. Biodiversity includes both number of species and their abundance relative to each other. The changes in an ecosystem that typically cause concern are the large, drastic ones that reduce biodiversity down to only a few highly dominant species. (Sourcing the quote turned out to be rather difficult, but I managed to find it eventually.)

My Castle Age series with their original titles before I had to change them to fit Bright Hub's SEO policies. I liked how they actually looked like they were part of a series, and also the way I'd stuck the two biggest keywords together. But apparently that's bad. -.-

And then for a masochistic encore, I also updated How to get ingredients in Restaurant City. There were six ways. Shortly after I wrote it, they came out with a 7th. So I put that in (and it took an enormous amount of reformatting the whole thing that took almost as long as writing it the first time T.T).
