Blood will tell.

I have a problem. I often feel like the mad white serpent in that user icon of mine. It's because I have two groups in my flist, and I've realized they don't meet. I don't think there's one single person among you that belongs to both groups wholly. ailati and thestrawberry are the only ones that sort of blend those lines I think - do correct me if I'm wrong. My testimony: I agree with her every word about Hobb. Once I got my hands on Assassin's Apprentice, there was no stopping before Fool's Fate!

For those who intend to read them in some other language than English: I've no idea whether the second trilogy, Liveship Traders, has been translated to your language (at least it's not available in Finnish). The story takes place in other parts of the same world and with different characters, whereas the third trilogy continues with the setting from the first one. It's possible to skip Liveship Traders, and still follow the plot in the third trilogy. However, I don't recommend that. The storyline in Liveship Traders is imo even more fascinating than in the 1st and 3rd trilogies, and there are some quite fascinating characters. I doubt that you can find an evil guy as complex and interesting anywhere in any genre of literature. I'd go as far as to say that it's the best one of the trilogies. Besides, you would miss a lot of lovely details and "whoa, I know what that's about"s in the third trilogy.

With my luck this was all in vain, since Liveship Traders is translated in every language in the world except Finnish, including basque, herero, hopi, inuit, klingon and quenya. Besides, it's always recommendable to read all the books in the original language, in this case English, if possible. But in case some of you don't, and there's no Liveship Traders in your native language, read it in English.
