I'm SO glad you're not seriously hurt. I got to the part where you landed on your feet (which didn't surprise me) and I thought you had escaped unscathed. I'm sorry to hear you did get hurt. ;(
But you're home! After getting hit by a car! That is amazing. I hope you heal quickly.
Ah.. I didn't exactly land ON my feet, my feet landed on the curb! the rest of me kinda tumbled onto the ground.
I want someone to put this in game terms. I was wearing so much clothing I actually had an armor class. I was so padded that my dex was diminished (both by lack of peripheral vision and by encumbrance). I was not, however wearing a backpack, so there was no damage from encumbrance.
I was wearing the equivalent of heavy padded armor, complete with padded helmet. My boots were definitely armor class, while my pants could be considered thin padded armor, for the sake of game terms.
I think of EVERYTHING in game terms. I actually typed "I'm glad you didn't take too much damage" but I decided to be a little more respectful. ;)
You had on damage-reduction armor. Didn't keep you from getting hit, just absorbed some of the blow. Dex was down, and you had additional minuses on your spot and listen checks so you were caught flatfooted. You somehow managed to roll high on your reflex check after getting launched, which explains why your feet hit the ground first.
Did you see the post when I got hit last year? The resulting comment chain, expressing the event in D&D rules, was pretty hilarious. :D
