Life is like a nuclear missile hitting your town...

Everything's going well until all of a sudden it just blows up in your face.

Now that's not a very good analogy for how things are going with me, but I liked it anyway. The only really bad thing that's happening with me at the moment is that my research platform refuses to actually function, but I've already fixed a decent part of the bugs with that, so things are well on their way to getting better.

In good news, my knee is much better. Still not quite healed all the way-- it gets cranky when I'm in long car trips and have to hold it in a single position for more than one hour. I can extend it all the way with only slight discomfort, and on the whole I think it's healed up nicely.

My advisor came down to the giant warehouse-like room where my research platform is at (along with all the UAV stuff the other grad students are doing) to talk to me. Apparently he would like me to do some new stuff with the platform, and wants me to have a paper proposal ready by April 1st. I have no idea what to do this paper on, other than a general, very overview-ish basic area/topic. Needless to say, never having been in charge of a research project before, or writing a research paper, not having a functional platform, or even having an idea of what I'm doing this on-- I'm a little freaked out.

So that's the immediate updates here. Not a whole lot interesting happening, other than that. Oh, I'm getting a second monitor tomorrow-- should be arriving from Dell. :D
