I totally fixed the TV. (See
TV's done for.) With help. ;) One of my friends brought over a tool we needed to get the old solder out of the bad wire location on the board and helped me get it out, then we soldered the new wire on. Pretty simple, and works just like new. Maybe better. I took it all apart the other day and had it sitting here on the floor while I analyzed the circuit board to try and find the part that was fried, and what it was when I found it. Pretty simple to fix, I just had to get ahold of some of the equipment I needed.
Anyway, I'm proud of myself. Put that EE training to work, YEAH!
Now just to convince my roommate that putting his speakers on the TV is not a good thing for it... Don't want it getting all magnetized right after I fixed the thing.
